i m not that good in math and etc (i will try to improve soon) anyway I apreciate your time for answer the question

i wasn't really trying to be a dick, but just making a point (which i think is a good one).

i mean, look at the answers you got. it's slow. use lots of reverbs. read the Ambient forum. listen and experiment.

O'RLY???

my problem is that after reading some topics i get the impression that there's a mere 5 second delay between a thought occurring in someone's head and a new topic appearing on Isratrance asking for answers to it. that's not a good thing and shouldn't be encouraged (by taking these questions seriously). all that does is spam the forum and develop a really harmful habit in the person asking the question. after all, why should anybody actually use their own brain to think about something for a few minutes or just search for an answer via this incredibly powerful tool we have available right at our fingertips (teh introwebz), when you can simply ask the question and expect somebody else to lay it all out in front of us, all nice and neat?

'Making psytrance' thread is in this category too. how useful would this forum stay and would (knowledgeable) people bother posting here if more than half of all threads were like this?

I got your point, I shoulded post in this in a already opened thread like the two above, wont happen anymore...

I think we should make a ``the mother of all ambient`` thread to start a general discussion about this, but I really dont know how many people in this forum have interest in it, anyway sorry for my stupidness

to me, ambient is something very different from what you are talking about, as someone already mentioned. in the classical sense, ambient is mostly beat-less music where soundscapes is the primary objective. along the same lines as noise or musique concrete.

what you are asking about is generally referred to as chillout, psychill, downtempo.

to me personally, it's all about melody. so all of my chillout (or chillout to be) tracks start with things i write on guitar and then i build my track around that. i'm not as much into "ethnic" downtempo, but more dub or psy influenced.

Ambient music to me is a down tempo or no tempo approach to evoke emotion in a relaxed state of Mind. It can be used for good feeling or tension just alike, and imho it definitely has some form of structure. It can be full beat and almost nothing else and still be ambient, it also can be just the opposite, no beat at all. It is generally more slow than Psy Trance and often and not exclusively contains world music elements...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

I see it as Medea .Much more possibilites in production.
Thats where I want to go so to say.I would love to make ambient someday. And someday without beats and nice synths that i dont have.Till that day i have to be sorta satisfied with my terror experiments in psytechno trance whatever. That can last my life dunno hehe.Privately its like 2 percent of psytrance and 98 of ambient that Im hearing concerning goa genres. One Love to all ya psybredas and sistas!

Create a full overloaded fullon track and all midi based..and slow the tempo down to something inbetween 30 and 50 bpm..then rearrange/change and put more stuff in it..there you already got a kind of set where you can work on..

sometimes it works nice this way for me..

the more things change...

Haha..great septa..

you did catch this one..

sure someone have to change a lot..but its even interesting to raise the speed up afterwards, to get a more complex psy tune

do not work like that but heard from some people who always work like that..

So funny..it was almost to the same time as last year..

seems like always in the beginning of the year people tend to need some advice on chill tracks.

yes I see the point Zork. But I havent produced anything decent so far in my psytrance-experiments and have lots to learn to gain some own habits and more clue so to say.and I prefer another style of ambience.Well maybe after a tune of me that i will like I then make a downtempo try firstly.Id like toget to know more bout synthesis and sound design before starting an ambient tune so eazy going for that.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

Sure m8..no big deal..

just practise over and over again..listen to music..read the mother of topics..present your music on new tracks section..we will help you..

it was just my intention that at the beginning of the year people try keep things slower as last year and therefore they start producig ambient music..

i even got an ambient track on wich i work on, sometimes

when i got all that overloaded stuff over..i used to listen to groove salad/itunes ambient channel almost all the last 11 months on work..so i enjoy it and am really into it as well..

there is a lot of great ambient tunes out there..if you enjoy it go for it as always

wish you good luck!

cheers           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-
