Saw the "am I too old" thread, and I guess it's different based on location, because I'm in San Francisco and I swear I'm easily the youngest person at every psytrance event I've ever been to.

I'm 22 and the big majority of the people I meet at psy parties are between 25 and 35. This is a big contrast to raves that I go to where everyone there is 16-21 (and fucking stupid too... so many of them dropped out of high school or didn't go to college if they graduated).

Are there any other places where it's like this?

in Italy parties sucks...people are young (too young, from 15-16 to 21-22), withouth any goa spirit, they listen shitty music (absolutely fake trance music) in shitty places, no connection between people, just get high and be aggressive..
this week Symphonix come here in Bologna for play (love you guys) and at the end of the party Sirko looked around, then looked at me and said: " man, in Italy everythigh sucks"

but still hope, fortunately we have some kickass producer and kickass organizer....but it's hard. we are losing the spirit. I am losing the spirit

everybody been there;-)
I started isratrance at the age of 19 and started going to parties at age of 18...I always tried going to old-shanti-people parties;-)

But what happened in 90's is a different from what happens today...           I may rise, but I won't shine ...

The parties in Athens that I have been to recently, are mostly girls and boys around my age (31) although there are quite a few girls that are younger.
So its all good here.

Well, this reminded me when I was 14-15 years old... We were outside on many many parties, with no money to go in, head full of drugs(in my neighbourhood was very easy and very cheap to get everything you like) and we were doing anything to go on the parties, outdoor or not... We were faking the tickets, the marks or the plastic bracelets they were putting on the door, we were jumping over the fences, go through a secret places where nobody wasn't watching... Heh, I was caught few times and thrown from the party, but the next one I was doing it again And yes, sometimes I was outside and just listening to the music, it was my favorite music playing in there, so I waited if there is a chance to hope in, if not, there were always some people outside with the same interest, so practically I was never alone Sometimes the question wasn't only for the music and the party that was happening... I went to some parties just to meet my friends outside... One party was inside, and one outside, without loud music, with some cool people gathered together, sharing joints, beers, laughs, having a really good time together... It was fun back then...
In my country there were always older people on the techno and house parties, most of my friends who started listening to trance get bored somehow and now they are living the techno music... There are much more younger people on the trance parties... Don't know why, but many people are much older and into techno now. Well, not for me...

Everything starts from the beginning...

I remember my 1st party.
I think I was 15, cause it was around 2000. Psysex live. With Yoni still around.

Their live was my 1st psychedelic experience. But I was like, the youngest kid on the party, for sure.
But that's common in Brazil now-a-days. Lots of kids with fake ids getting into parties.

So I think you're OK.

The problem here in Macedonia is that there are still places where NOBODY is checking your id. Last 3-4 years there are some restrictions, but mostly nobody will check your id as long as you have money to pay for the entrance Back then you weren't able to get in unless you were 1m tall and 35kg on your body but then, always someone older was beside you, and... no problemos ...
I remember my first party, it was an indoor one, in a club here in Skopje 1999, I got in without any problems... no id, no one older beside me. Still happening these days thou...

Good parties: old people

bad parties: young people

Its like that around here. I think the first generation of trancers dont like todays massive parties so they seek the medium ones with better line ups.

The kids in the other side dont know a damn about anything and they go every moth to see eskimo, skazi, dali, bizarre contact, intersys or any other poptrance artist           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

I see that no one has answered your specific question!

So I will do as the one who opened the opposite thread!

No you are not young!

for sure you are not old. but i mean you are not young as those 14 - 16 years old kids. its a huge deference.

You are in the start of the finest age to get in trance!

Coz your brain is totally ready to any journey. and probably you dont act like any of those silly (14 – 16 years old) kids.

If you were compared to more adult people around you ( above 30 years old) then you are really young. but thats totally fine coz you are not 16 old stupid kid that makes troubles.

Anyway , its good to know that there are places in the world with many adults as you mentioned , maybe I will visit your City to party there someday. Heard a lot about good parties in San Francisco but wasn't sure if those stories are true….

peace!
