My god long time ago since I read this snobbish frustrated elite bullshit... AS IF the buying of or stealing of software has ANYTHING to do with the creative process of musicmaking. To me these times are much more democratic for producing because more people are able to afford material which allows them to be creative. The pool of people gets bigger which means more crap but which also means more potential. pure socialism vs. feudalism in fact. 
These whinings about pirated software, analog vs digital, hardware vs. software, the good-ol'-days vs. the new "crap" are no more than cries of frustrated dinosaurs who spent too much money on stuff and never "made" it...
Just make music and move on... Don't listen to psytrance anymore and discover huge amounts of high quality modern psychedelic downtempo, probably made with pirated software & sounding as awesome as the orb ever did (and yes, I have been a fan for about 14 years too now with "the orb live '93" as one of my favourite albums)

i dont get the topic  i dont like to divide psytrance in subgeneres neither but sometimes we gotta describe it like those ..night,morning,twilight or whatever they say because of some components in the tracks..BTW ive been realizing...WHAT u really call High-Tech Psytrance..ive heard that is electric fullon such as astrix or that kinda style and THE OTHERS Names High-Tech to artist such as Kashyyyk,furious (some trax),Osom(some trax).cosmo,highko,guitar whoop + furious (aerofurious)..so i dont really know..what i know is that some of this artists i just named are kinda diferent to darkpsy in some aspects and some trax

you have some good points but in 10/15 years with the cpu power plugins ll smoke your old hardware  i hope... also old gear are a pain to use , they need repare and they are not that cheap, insteed of buying a ti i can understand the sonic advantage of buying some vintage synths but for the wortkflow it s a pain in the ass ,for me workflow >> sound quality as long as it sound good enough |
