first off, let me preface this by saying that introducing the ability to embed soundcloud/youtube/images has breathed all sorts of new life into this forum! however, it has become pretty apparent (to me, at least), that soundcloud embedding has some finite limitations. for those without the resources to pay for one of their premium plans, soundcloud becomes an impractical solution for streaming anything other than individual tracks (as free accounts have a 2 hour time limit)... as evidenced by the many dj sets that show up in the forums as 'this track is currently not available'. furthermore, soundcloud has been cracking down on and removing dj sets from their servers as a preemptive move to avoid unauthorized distribution of intellectual property.
so my question to the isratrance team is this; how difficult would it be to allow embedding of html player widgets from other services? personally, i have found that services such as http://www.mixcloud.com offer much more flexibility than soundcloud in that users can have unlimited minutes/recordings/encoding rates, so long as these are kept under 100mb per audio file. furthermore, it provides the option of offering a visual tracklisting while the audio plays, which helps promote the artists included in any particular recording.
i'm sure that implementing the ability to embed the mixcloud widget would probably present some technical challenges, but i think that it would be a tremendous service to the isratrance community.. and that the benefit would be well worth the effort!

haha, i remember that thread..

i was also going to suggest the option to embed the http://www.mix.dj player widget as well, but there is a 500 mb max limit for storage for their site.

on the other hand, providing the means to embed the http://www.official.fm player widget into forum pages would be another wonderful way for us to share and promote music in a way that is beneficial to both artists and djs alike.

so yeah, if there is any way to make it possible to embed the mixcloud and/or official.fm players into forum posts as we can at present for the soundcloud player, that would be super-duper!

also try the upcoming www.beamto.us , it focuses mainly on the psychedelic genre and has a reddit type of voting system,clean n simple interface,embedding,playlist and can upload long sets.

And the programmers of this site are from our psychedelic community and always willing to help.
