Plus, if you earn $15 million like Aoki did last year then $200 is not a lot to ask for a cool-assed synth like Sylenth, eh?

At least he'll never be able to cry about music piracy again! I wonder how common it is for "superstars" to be using cracks?

indeed. and that's without mentioning the current drama with hollywood and music industry pressuring the government and secret services to engage in more control over the internet and a man's haunt for pirates or simply services that enable people to share their files, like piratebay (those interested can find a free documentary online on that topic).

this says a lot about how they think they stand above everyone else in the sense they only imagine themselves on the receiving end of the market and turns out some of them are quite capable of ignoring other people's rights along the way. the income of these small developers is nothing compared to the kind of money many people get from using the stuff they ingeniously crafted!

some times this goes well, the relationship between U-he and Howard Scarr that got them close to hollywood scoring artist Hans Zimmer that developed to the extent of having a costumized version of Zebra made just for it shows how big money projects can help the entire "food" chain and be good publicity for everyone involved if only there's some respect and mutual admiration for the other person's work!

I'm fed up with living in a world where people with not so much talent get the best piece of the cake and behave like it's their birth right to be in that place. where talentless and narrow thinkers get to make thousands or milions while there's a lot of talented people who can only manage to get by! seriously!

I hear what you are saying, but does it really matter? As long as you make the music you like, travel somewhat, make some cash for extra gear in the studio, who cares if Aoki or anyone else, make millions?

It has always been like this realy, we just get to know about it more with the information available on the internet.

if we're talking EDM, then it's fairly recent with a lot of people hitting number one on various charts. but you're right, it shouldn't make us raise an eyebrow even. what I think makes this sound like a bad joke, is the fact that this guys are the same that keep on crying about how piracy stills them part of their revenues and even making milions fail to respect other people along the process, while some of us love the chance to actually buy some stuff if we trully believe in it and we understand that we need to support those that enable us to do what we do along the way (that is when/if we get serious and start making money with gigs and whatever). we're talking people that make more money in a month then most of us do in a year (or 2 or 3 or 4...). What's 200 bucks for a guy that makes millions? it's something for the guy that spent a whole lot of time developing the instrument, for sure...
