So.. Here we are.. But first things first:
Mods if you think this is in the wrong section, please be kind to move this. (I think this would be the best place though) Thank you 
Now, i'm gonna explain why i created this thread - You see, sometimes, we find ourselves in the other side of our mind, that side where you can't even think of making music, where you just don't see any light in the dark, and you start listening to the "professional" music in your mp3, pc, phone you name it. You starting listening to "pro" music from "pro" artists to compensate this one screwing up fact: "You're lacking the inspiration required to work on your music". And this is (at least for me) very, very upsetting, and then we find ourselves in this attitude: "Fuck it".
But it doesn't have to be like that, we can stimulate our own inspiration, our own light in the dark, and eventually we can control what happens in our mind, so, therefor, we can make music if we want to.
For me (and i think it works to some of you) it works reading words, like for example: Melodic, Twirling, Atmosphere, Ambient Sounds, Psychedelic Trance.. There are a lot of words that can actually control your inspiration, but, there are other things that can work in our minds too. Like when you read one guy telling you about how you should try to work your tune the other way around, like for example, if you start making your song making the kick and bass combo first, and then percussion, or maybe start making the lead first, and let it decide how your tune is going to be.
But sometimes our method can turn into an absolute routine, so this thread is for you, when you feel inspired, write about something that you think can help other people get inspiration, words, texts, methods, how you do things, how you think, what you do to get inspiration, typed speeches about music making processes, psychedelic thoughts, theories.. There are a lot of stuff that can set off our mind into critical inspiration overload.
So.. If you feel like you want to make a tune or work on a tune but you just can't get that needed inspiration, you should come here, read, share and your mind will reward you.

yea, i feel this way too.. one week im flowing real good and all things are running smooth.. but next im stuck and cant get anything done..
when this happens, i mean when im stuck in loops and aint going nowhere.. i just let it go and watch some movie i've wanted to see or dig up some tutorials, roll fat ones and listen to stoner rock etc.. and after this the next sitting, it'll all be fine.. and i think this process is different for diff ppl as they have diff likes and dislike..
lately, i've started to observe this 'stuck in loops' phase.. try to find out what initiates this and if it is possible not to let things from the outside fuck my flow up.. hopefully i'll be able to decode this soon..

Recently i change my artist name to Circuling Skies that came from the lyrics of a Pink Floyd's song. That remind me of the first trips i had and that feeling u got when you looked up at night and the skye was perfectly round and u feel very very small and amazed at the universes scale.
It's givin a boost of creativity

i only need 1 thing to make music...
spliffs!
all the rest is in the brain (i listen to "pro" music but not to gain inspiration, but to go insane lol(and ofc i learn a lot just from listening it))
the thing that im thinking more and more...
u have to have a concept for a song, keep it up and work around it... things will come out eventually(if spliffed)
PS- if im sober, my music lacks power 
I want a spare brain.... or 2. |
