Here's a good (almost) free hardware Reverb for you:

If you live in a high building with elevator you can always use the elevator shaft as your effect send!
Just put a speaker in the top of the shaft and a sensitive microphone on it's bottom. Connect the speaker to the Send FX in your mixer unit and the microphone to the Return FX in the mixer. Manipulate with the send amounts to fit your musical tastes. For best results make sure that nobody uses the elevator at the recording time because its' operation introduces noises and FX that you don't necessarily need for your project.
Good luck!

Next week we'll learn how to use your microwave to achieve a flanger effect.          Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Hey if the lift is silent you could get some interesting effect as the elevator moves thus reducing or increasing the reverb size.

"Next week we'll learn how to use your microwave to achieve a flanger effect."

hehehehe.,

something like spinning a speaker around and holding the microwave with the microphone inside in your hand?.,

or maybe one of those rides which spin in one big circle and then also at the same time in smaller circles.,
play the music on a pa around the ride and sit in the ride with a microphone.,

ooh, wait., that's doppler, not flanging .,.,

now that i think of it, the doppler effect has muuuuch more tutorial potential .,., just think of all the trains, cars and high buildings out there,.,.

greetos.,

and if you're recording becomes a classic, people 50/100 years from now, will spend millions trying to recreate the same situations you recorded

Nice tut man! I'll write one too about using the fridge to freeze vsti' s.

btw: I' ll install an elevator in our house to achieve the reverb-effect because I think you can't get this with an emulated software elevator-plugin.

yeah guys, laugh it up... but do u know that before the lexicon 960SL (product of the 80's) this was the only way to achieve natural reverberation? Every studio had an empty hallway or room or multiple hallways/rooms with this speaker/mic setup (often stereo miced ofcourse)... That's why reverb from before the 80's was so specific that u could actually hear in which studio the recording was made Except for plate and spring verbs ofcourse, but they don't sound natural...

u see, people didn't always have the luxury of having a high quality stereo reverb on every channel... i'm still surprised that some people don't know how luxurious we have it nowadays...

hehe
u can use bathroom or shower(empty of towels and durty cloth's ) room for reverb also
spetialy for bass/mid sounds
ceramics/porcelain cover of walls reflect sound perfectly

for flanger u can use big PVC pipelines (u can find those in building sites used for instalation) different diameter and leight will give different flange fx           Jesus didnt dance, but his beat goes on

for doppler, put a stereo-mic (or two mics) in front of a leslie and let your sound go thru the leslie while recording with the stereo-mic on one side of the leslie

you can also bounce tracks into the mix by attaching a cd to a tennis ball and serving it into your screen.
