Lets say that i had finished my track, so after that I suposse I should open my .wav track in Sound Forge , then I "normalize" it and put some "wave hammer effect". But how is the best EQ for the track, u know? to give more "life", more "air" to the track?
Thanks           trie not to thinck racionaly right now...

what program did u use to make the track?
you have to make sure you have no clipping going on your mix (that means you have to check that your level doesnt get any higher than 0db although i like to keep it at a safe -1db.
my advice to you is dont try to use eq's and wave hammers after your track is done....it wont give you any "air" or "life"....you have to work on each channel of your mix so it fits its place, compress channels that need to be compressed and cut unwanted frequencies......
what im trying to say is that your track should sound close to perfection on the sequncer you are using and after you export a close to perfection mix thats where you can make MINOR adjustments to your eq.

Try Izotope Ozone to finish your track.

Check www.izotope.com

You get there also a good guide how to master with ozone as pdf.            Signature

schuenck, when you are done with the ruff mixing you get to the fine mixing, where you fine tune EQs and compressors settings, FX and everything, I.e correct and balance everything from Volume, pan, automation, and so on...

Lets say, during ruff mixing you have been setting Eq´s & FX´s to a desired value and you are coming closer to happy but you are not there yet maybe, its hard to get there, hehe...

So now when everything is fleshed out and you are happy with the sound palette your tune has to offer, you might want to bring out every element to its own space, by fine tune the instruments.

Try to come as close as possible to the sound you are after with the instruments paramters first, then after that scuplture with the Eq, and by surprise some instruments might not need EQ
and some instruments might need a compressor to get into the "picture".

EQs&Compressors and volume, it goes hand in hand
and they often only need small, fine, minor adjustments to make it sound almost exactly as you want it to sound, depending on how precise you where in the creating process in coming closer to a decent sound, from decent you go to Goood! and so on..

So anyway by sweeping different bands in the EQ with different "minor" EQ adjustments and the opposite "heavy" EQ adjustments you can find your lucky fit, sometimes you have to fiddle a long time with the EQ, but remember, always check your sound and sound source for first solution.

good luck, i know if you search a little you might find ideas for a better mix...

and there are also some questions you should ask your self while listening to your tune in different volume, and with different settings.
