ahem,
I don't see exactly why this has to be about Israeli trance parties, but i left this one nearly as pissed off as B. After timing everything to be there and energized for 1:30 when koxbox was to start, I was suprised to find that no one could tell me if Frank-E was actually on the premises. People close to the organization spun me stories about both Frank-E and Ian Ion being there, and then i heard the story that someone had gone to pick them up. Frankly, this seemed like subterfuge, and though I can't be sure that these stories were coming from El Nadiv, it's unclear who else would bother with the smokescreen.
Oforia played serviceably, but he seems never to have outgrown the old skool peaks-and-valleys DAT/MD style of mixing. Intros to Outros, little else. . . His live stuff was groovy enuf, but nothing to rival his Pigs in Space work or other Goa-era gems.
Nobe mixed impeccably as usual, though I always find his tastes to be very nighttime-oriented. Twice now I've seen him close out parties, however. To be bitchy about it: either he's got to work on his morning set, organizers have to book him earlier, or people have to lay off the speed and return to morning music.
Taps in the men's room were cut sometime around 4 am, prohibiting water refills. Hiss.
$20 prepay option was much appreciated. Cheers, Jeff. In the end, though, i'm made to wonder whether it was a concession made in response to losing Koxbox sometime well in advance of the party. that's probably little more than a conspiracy theory, but until I hear a legitimate explanation why El Nadiv circulated a story about running to the airport last minute to get Frank-E, I'm going to hold to my conspiracies.
Acts like Koxbox make a party and bring out a sizable circle of fans that would otherwise not be spending Sat. night at club (no) Exit. If you're finessing your airline bookings on the night of the show, something's been seriously botched. I have friends who know koxbox and have never heard stories of their unprofessionalism. excuse me but since when was being a bad promoter a representation of nationality....bad carma is a good name for you because you certainly spread it....by relating this happening to "israeli" promoters you have not only negated your own comments but you have stepped in the same direction as a promoter who gains at others expense by deception. . .you are not trance bad carma so you have no right to accuse others of not being trance.
with that said i hope this promoter has an excuse for this because this party could have been a springing board for ny trance but now its the same old bullshit come out and speak for yourself el nadiv. man up. what happened. if you want anyone to trust you be honest. its called respect. this is what i meant by being "trance" having respect for others and yourself, nothing more. good carma and bad carma---no respect....sorry about the negativity moderators.......but i had no choice.

El Nadiv...so? what is your explaination? and maybe you should re-post a schedual of who actually DID play on Sat. night! and for $35 entrance fee...come on, at least explain yourself, not all of us had the chance to purchase $20 tickets online, so if you are offering $20 online through paypal at least give the discount at the door when you know KOXBOX will not be there? or is that too fair to treat your fellow party-goers?  |

i had a feelin that it wasnt them.. was kinda zapped. :smile:
that really sucks, its not often that i complain.. but when the org knows that the act is not going to be there a discount should be made. also i have to complain about how the lineup was organized. i mean it went from kinda twisted fullon played by spook to knobe then the proggresive sort of trance by spiririnalize to more full on. the evening sorta lacked flow. i still managed toenjoy myself. i think knobe was flawless his mixin was incredible. a true master of the decks and he knows his tunes inside out. donno if he did play a live set. oforias album looks very tasty cant wait to get a copy...
hopefully the alladin crew has a response...mistakes happen i guess but they should have told us about the no show by kokbox. maybe iwth the extra dough they made they can afford to bring in astrix since he is playin in frisco

I thought Kox Box was on the stage that night. And I didn't find their music to my taste and would not go to any other party featuring their name. Only if I didn't read this thread here.
After reading this thread I notice that they were someone else on the stage. Knowing that many people do not know about this Forum, they still think they listened to Kox Box. And many has an idea now what "Kox Box"'s music is like. Which is incorrect. Many people left the party with the wrong impression for the artists.
So I think it is very disrespectful (to the crowd and to the artist) of Aladdin Project not to announce that the Artists are not present while including someone else to the lineup instead. Very confusing and very inconsiderate.

wow this is deeply disturbing to know this is how NY throws psytrance events... =(
i'm just very glad things didn't work out for me to fly up as planned...
the fact that there were 2 people from different states prepared to buy plane tix to see an event that was not even truthful in its representation... unfreakingbeleivable...
i feel for those that may have...

do you guys remember when omnitribe crew lost one artis (dont remember who) and then they booked Wizzy Noise last minute for upstate party.Do you remember last omnitribe party when they had to change place of the venue ,they slashed price by half.
As some1 mentioned that before some ppl still dont know they did not see KOXBOX.Funny right?But what ,screw them,whos care............. 
Ah and the water,Org. got nothing to do with that GREED does.I was witnessed talk about ppl getting water from bathroom ,one of the owners become RED when he relized hes not making $$$ on water.Then he cut it.

Mietek, Please don't screw me for not knowing the faces of the artists! I care about the music and the price I pay for the parties and expect to listen to the names written on flyers.
Also my point was the respect to the artists as well as to the crowd. You just can not put a random act without letting people know who is playing. It is not fair to Kox Box as to any of us.
Just think of it this way.
For instance: You are a known DJ and you are sleeping in your bed while some people are dancing to some DJs tunes (or in my case sitting down and waiting for your set to end to start dancing) thinking that you are on stage. And some people made decisions if they would buy your album or not, to go see your show again or not. Does that sound fair to you?
Oh let me guess. Your answer would be "screw it, i had a good night sleep"

since we are trying to enter an age of constructive criticism on this board, and quite succesfully, i might add, here goes ..
1. lights please, lights .. swirling purple lights dont do it for me, although i guess this is an improvement on the pink. some normal, straight up blacklights should do the trick.
2. line-up : although support for el nadiv still seems strong judging by the numbers at this party, i doubt even his most die hard supporters would offer a word in his defence after this .. HOW THE HELL DO YOU BOOK AN ACT AND THEN BRING SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS ALREADY IN TOWN - with no warning, and no info at the club either .. cmon eli, we're not deaf and dumb .. you cant expect to get away with something like that ..
3. with all due respect, we are no longer in the mood for artists, that are in my most humble opinion, washed up .. oforia represented a side of psy that i saw last in 2002, and really, we're in 2005 now .. rinkadink .. wizack twizack .. silicon sound .. sirius isness .. azax ... damage ... now there are some artists that will draw a crowd ..
besides that, the party was pretty good. crowd was good, deco was good, sound except for sp. vs. midi was good, knob was phenomenal, and dr. spook - god damn i love your hat !!! enjoyable set from you ... some kicking energy at the party ..

there was one track played by the german dudes, that kept me shaking, it was worth the whole party, even though some people might not find this sound really contemporary psychedelic trance, but still, something different for my ears;
really wanted to hear frank-e, what a bummer, and i think people deserve a honest explanation to the whole thing around him not showing up;

Aside from all the negative stuff already said and it all sounds rather sad indeed I also think that it was a good party after all. The music rocked at times, decor kicked ass!, great vibe and people as always. But then I'm an optimist

Hey party people...
Thanks once again, for joining us for an amazing experience. Apologies for not replying ASAP for personal reasons. we war really surprised that some people criticized without giving us a chance to explain. Its sad to see how when things goes wrong for us for the first time, that has happened to any production in the city. some people decide to embrace a negative approach instead of realizing that things don't always happen as planned. Explaining about Franke, Kox Box he was suppose to arrive in NYC on Thursday Feb 10, for personal reasons he missed the flight on Thursday and we lost the ticket. Then we purchased another ticket, for coming on Sat night arriving Sat night
There are situations in life that we can't control; it was a snow storm in Copenhagen Denmark. Franke was stuck in the airport for 7 hours waiting, his flight was canceled and the airport gat shut down. The last we heard was that he was trying to make it and we hoped until the last moment.
We were very happy that we were able to have Midimiliz killer DJ set in the last moment, thanks to some kind people from the NYC trance scene. It was beautiful how people were dancing till 9AM!!! And to bad karma and Daya thats OK if you're guys not going to come to our parties because we need only good karma.
For the next party on MARCH 5th, in CLUB EXIT the line up
will be...
FIRST TIME IN NYC
...EATSTATIC LIVE {3 people} & FRANK'E KOXBOX and more...
