Umm... if that is true, it must be the stupidest idea i've heard for a while. Modular is, as the name implies, a modular synth. You build your synths and effects using small primitive modules... how on the earth you could sample that?!? The amount of configuraitions is virtually infinite.
So it's probably not Modular but something else...
btw v-station is not emulation, it's just some stripped down version of older novation synths.
Others:
Basstation VST (novation basstation)
PPG VST (PPG synth)

timewarp 2600
emulation of the classic arp2600 analog synth
this one is really cool, specially for getting very trippy fat sounds. i think is better than arturias
Oddity vst is a emulation of Odissey analog synth
imposcar vst enulation of oscar analog
i like minimonsta better than minimoog V by the way, it has its own character and it rocks!

Actually ... emulation does not mean wavetable synthesis !! emulation should mean that they try to reproduce the behaviour of the analog or digital devices used in these hardware synthies by reengineering it in code ! ... so a realy emulator should use no samples at all! That is the key to having all the nice infinite configurations .. the turnover is that emulators tend to use a lot of cpu time ... and if there is an emulator for the nord modular , pleeeeeasseeeee tell me what its called ! I want it ! |

Yeah, I was referring to the 10 gig softsynth, which indeed would be samplebased. I was just pointing out that emulating something so dynamic and flexible just with samples would be madness

Well, you are correct, Enertopia. In fact, I'd even call it not emulation but a conversion. It probably has same codebase as the K-station. Maybe it's same with BassStation too. |
