"sweet sadness" was good as well.

Because I feel it achieved a brilliant and unequaled combination of depth, imagination, magic, patience, timelessness, and other good stuff, my overall favorite at this point is still:

first shpongle album is indeed excellent,
though I wouldn't describe it as pure ambient or chillout.
But definately an alltime fav for me as well.

Mh, yeah, "are you shpongled?" is very nice, another one of so many very good albums.
BTW: My taste changes constantly, so my overall favourite album will change frequently too. There is just too many very good albums.
Ishq - Orchid would be another one, for example. |

imo your favorite album should be one that you still enjoy after many years, that you perhaps save for special occasions only, that you are sentimentally and emotionally connected to it due to experiences you had with a group of people at a special place for example.. I would personally seek my fav album somewhere between 2001 and 2004, probably Hallucinogen in dub, an album that I still cherish to the maximum and for that reason I play very occasionally. Are you shpongled and mystery of the yeti would do the job as well. I can't connect to new albums the way I do with those old storytelling gems |

@liquidchill: Ya, but I have many of those ... lucky me
Yes, Hallucinogen in Dub is very good as well. CBL - "Hydoponic Garden" is another one. And Gaudi´s "bass sweat and tears". Of course: Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works. Hol Baumann "Human" was a blast. Kaya Project`s "Elixir" is gold. Oh, and the old Pitch Black albums. What`S with Puff Dragon`S "Sazanami"? The Orb-albums . Ulrich Schnauss-abums. Klaus Schulze`s "Irrlicht" ....... |
