I beleive that sometimes when reading a post from a non-native english speaker, it can be difficult to determine the meaning behind the post. It's very possible to take a conversation in a very different direction if a person cannot understand the meaning behind the post.
I do agree that us native english speakers need to exercise a bit more patience when conversing with others that aren't as familar to the language as we are, it's a matter of tolerance. I just hope that others will be tolerant with me if I butcher their language when I go to visit their country.
