Oracle, grammar mistakes can lead sometimes to total chaos in whole sentence, as some letter in wrong place , as some native essay (ie. "left and right" in Hebrew exist but doesn't in other languages, thou it came from Russian). All these can make you unable to understand or to be understood. I got the idea of your post but you have many mistakes in it so maybe you should try to learn at least a bit more so other non English native speaker would be able to read.
Of course there are limits,
when person misspell "specialy" instead of "especially" or "grammer" instead of "grammar" , I can live with that but native essays are way to much and Israelis use them all the time.
So take this as advice, learn English bit more and think of those who can't read your posts because of you being bad English speaker so as them. |

Personally I don't give a toss about grammar. Its enough if the language is understandable and on most threads in here this seems to be the case.
It is true that sometimes you see people defending their own views by attacking someones language skills, which is very low and out of context. |

I'm not worrying at all... I've lived in the US for a few years...it's just annoying when people who make mistakes tell people to learn English.

Then I guess it's the way some people tell them. And not the telling part that matters. Right? Constructive critisism is the word I'm looking for. Dont know if I spelled it right thoe!?

AND, i agree using critism as self defence isn't cool. I understand English well, my grammar part suck and logical connections in sentences are my problem in any language i speak, i have three of native ones from different groups. The most intresting thing is that i can understand and speak to/with Scottish and Irish.
btw, Oracle have you done all grammar and logic mistakes in your post for purpose? Since you said you been to US for some time. |

Lets take acid's signature.
"I feel strange lately ..." .. We all know what he ment even thoe he wrote it in bad english grammer.
But the right spelling/grammer is "I'v been feeling strange lately..." .. But hey! As long as the communication is around. The grammer isnt that important. Pluss its nice to see how different people write their english grammer if their from (lets say) Greece.

As long as we understand each other; its ok. Its unnecessary to tell ppl to learn.
So what? Bad English? so what!?! My native language is Russian; my real and the most comfortable is Hebrew. Once I knew some Lithuanian and Yiddish.
I have sometimes bad English! And as I said, as long as we understand each other, it doesn't matter.

I can understand English of 95% of members of this forum, so it is fine with me. Rest 5% will learn it soon as they start to write. |
