I mean, the thing about saying 'trillian has a muddy sound' is that it hast a shitload of different samples and filters. Saying definitively 'it has a muddy sound' seems to me like saying 'I didn't really like it enough to delve deep into it and figure out what works for me'
2 cents
but yeah, alien 303 is definitely quite limited in its scope due to there being relatively few parameters to tweak.

Sorry to say this but if trilians sounding muddy you probably need to check out your monitoring solution or room treatment
cos im afraid to say bud that you pretty much stand ALONE on this point
might be worth Googling
"standing waves"
"Zero Phon"
good luck

My main problem with trillian is you get the analog waveforms but not the timbre of the original filters, the filters in trillian/trilogy sucks

i would agree with you on this to a certain extent as its kinda hard to match filter type to oscillator type and having properly modelled filters would get rid of a lot of the audible artifacts......
heres hoping that the past couple of collaborations between Moog and Spectrasonics
might bear some fruit in the form of a licensed filter code update
but as it stands just now .im more than happy to use it as a bass machine

sorry bud..i didnt mean to come across as a smart arse... if i did.. then my appologies
but my intention was only to help
thers loads of threads asking how to do this sound and that sound (another VB1 thread) and it gets a bit samey at times for me and probably for others so if my tone seems short
sorry
and also dont ever use cotton buds to clean your ears.....it might sound strange but try olive oil and some tissue paper to plug it up for half an hour....
