Trillian is a pretty big upgrade from Trilogy - certainly you can do great things with Trilogy...

but there's some new features in Trillian (especially latest versions) that are sweet. Like the 2nd sustain mode that lets you play realistic sounding bass on a keyboard...shit is awesome            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I like very lot of how Trilian sounds, but how u people deal with those constantly changing filters? I mean that when u try to do the normal kbbb, the filter is kinda moving and doesn't really give a monotonic beat for bassline.

eh?
Sounds the same on every note to me when I use it.
You sure all the note velocities are the same, no LFO mod on the filter...etc is taking place?

Peace out.

No lfo or velocity, it just seems too random... U can hear it clearly when stretching midi notes longer, or pulling more bpm. Of course one could bounce a short section of bassline and find the best sounding key and use that... btw, could this somehow being related to retrigger?

The trick here is to play around with note lengths and get really, really tight amp and filter envelopes going. I had the same issue as you, but I find it's all about the Prophet saw waves and very precise tweaking.

I actually dare say that there is a lot more to Trillian than some of the synth basses.

And I mean a lot, experimenting with Trillian these days and am very surprised what some of the other stuff can do in a mix...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Main problem is that both plugs are heavy without a reason for me.
Like why they make Alien without a ampEnv and it is heavy like that why?
Trillian why it is so freaking heavy ? Why ? What is there two "osc's" and some nice sample presets. 40gb or something and the plug itself is very memory consuming ....... The sound follows velocity it's the heaviest i met with that option . Too heavy without a real good reason, quality my ass..           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

Sylenth is a must have. I have Sylenth. I haven't been able to model a good full on bass or a dark bass with it. Would someone be able to provide me with a patch or atleast tell me how to model it.

found this a while ago:

Uhh??

First of all, Trillian has no Oscillators. It's completely sample based...no synth unit in it. "some nice sample presets" is a little bit of an understatement imo when they have a large selection of super-quality analog waveforms, as well as the best multi-sampled elecric/acoustic basses I've ever heard.

Its also not 40 gigs...that's Omnisphere...

and yes, by default the filter envelope is tied to Velocity by a large amount...but you can change that...

MANY MANY producers speak quite highly of trillian. There is a reason for this.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

closest ive ever heard to an MS20 sawtooth
waveform.....

if its price is your main problem......download a cracked version, buy some more ram instead or upgrade your pc
and save up to buy TRILIAN

im not condoning using warezed goods but if the price is a bit high..and if your comparing alien with it im assuming it is
then try before you buy.......2 cents

cheers and happy tweeking

ps. try and avoid cheep stuff that has only LINERAR envelopes but rather both Exponential and Linear envelopes or all your bass sounds will sound flabby and HEAVY

Well i didn't like them both. At first it sounds wow but few seconds later it sounds bad. Alien 303 has an anooying release and Trillian is just heavy nothing special i didn't like the sound as i like more clear sound than muddy sound.
