Alien = Just add water psybass, noob proof.

Not good for learning...

Listen to Obelizk and learn to make your bass in a more common synth like Cronox, Albino, Sylenth or so.

Sometimes I use Alien 303 because it sounds a bit "oldschool" Psy.. But definetely Trilian is WAAAAAY BETTER!!           ProtoDrive https://soundcloud.com/protodrive

that's funny, most of the people I know that use trillian do so for the "oldschool" analog waveforms

...and most that I know use alien 303 for the Full-On sound.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Don't mean to spam but here's a tune with Trillian running in real time, on bassline duty.

Unless I am going deaf, every note sounds the same?

Psy-Trance bass are one of the easiest synth "recipe" tweak to make.

Compressing them and equing them is another good step forward.

Sylenth is really versatile and complete as of subtractive synthesis.

You can achieve complete track just with it and some sample.

what i dont like is the sample dont start well on all notes, a bass that sound great on F key can totally sux in G for example cause of that sample start thing.., i tried to route the sample start to key tracking, it worked a bit better but still not a proper solution to me to have a bass that sound great on all notes, maybe we should have used a other synth sample...maybe the problem was just specific to that synth saw sample.. we had to sample all notes with proper sample start.

Well yes, but they tried to emulate the real hardware synths which work that way.

i think the samples start at the same point in the waveform, but it s different depending the note used !(sound like this to me when i used it) .
the original synths dont behave like this beeing not sample based, the oscillators don t retriger the phase on each note, it s free runing , it s something diffferent cause even using the same key it s not stable.

dont have much experience with trilian i could be wrong but if it s for emulation it s very poor emu , it s more a flaw in their sample engine or something like this to me but it s still very usable. if you don t change much the keys in the bassline it s not a problem. it could be we dont tweaked it well too.. or not used the rights synth samples.

Yes sorry I actually wanted to say that sometimes I use Alien 303 but I like more Trilian for that "oldschool" sound, I messed it up..           ProtoDrive https://soundcloud.com/protodrive

i hate alien 303.....every preste play the same sound, there a little bit of difference, but nothing of impressive.

so i prefere the trillian...but for for make a good sound with trillian you have to make a setup.
but the sound of trillian is better then alien303.

alien303 is easy and simple for the beginners...but after you used for sometimes is very boring

i recommend for make killer bassline these:cronox2(only for pc,for make intel there isn't and i say fuuuuck),sylenth,massive,scorpion,subboombass,massive,reaktor,es1 of logic.           https://soundcloud.com/hookersmusic

Cronox 3 is fucking horrible. I was using Cronox2 and I was all like hey! there's a new version! I wonder why no one mentioned that there's a version 3!

There's a reason.

Tron uses (or used to use) Cronox 2 for bass and his bass is fucking unreal. Very powerful tool.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
