first one: good vibes, mystic atmo. nice oldschoolish flavour. epic final! mabye lower the volume of the main lead a bit its quite loud here. another detail could be a spacious fresh clap/snare hybrid to add for some more snap, not much, i like it that its more in the back, just a tad bit more space and presence in the snare/clap.
second one: different, more groovy and pushing than the other. nice rubbery baseline and elements. open high hat a tad bit too prominent for my taste.
basically i like the style of your daytrance project. its quite psychedelic yet very melodic without getting cheesy.
your use of heavily modulated bell/organ synths give it a signature feeling through the different tracks

I listen to the first one.
Nice work with the percussions And i really love the bell sounds, it got a very psychedelic touch.
You do very good work with the progression.
I think the melody take abit too much space and is too consistent at 5.30, makes it abit squeeky. at 5.50 it gets more tamed, but still abit much. I would suggest less sustain on it there.
Otherwise great work. I really like your music. You use interesting elements and bind it all together in a neat and exciting way.

Very cool tracks!
Klippel is right, from what I`ve heard you really have a signature sound established for Algae Bloom with those bells. And bells like this sound awesome on big rigs, hehe, even better than on headphones like the ones I`m listening on right now.
Musically speaking I like the second one better, but the first one is cool as well. I do agree however, that on the first track the main "Bell" gets too loud in the end, and the kick in the first one is too dry, but thats just taste.

First :Good percussion work. The tribal drums are something I love.
IMO it took too much time for the track to 'kick in' but the build up is really top notch.
I add that I think the bells went too strong after 5:25.
Perfect work besides the small mixing problem.
Deep trance that will make my knees bend and jump!
Second: More funky and energetic, I like the direction you took it to. Pro stuff!
When is the Algae Bloom album going to be released?

Like them both, more classic the first one, stranger the second one, i guees it would pull some hair on the floor , the levels are already mentioned and probly sorted.
One question, how do u process the conga/bongo perc loops, its one of the most difficult things to do, do u raise the attack and high freqs? is it a balance between mids and highs, i have lots of trouble makin them stand in the mix. If u listen to Anouska Shankar's albuns u can almost hear the leather being touched by the player and the round low end also, would love to know how u process a thing like that, its pretty amazing

thanks man!
those things u mention about drum noises. u will be able to hear it when u record it modern samples are in 99% of cases are pretty heaily processed, quantized, cleaned, edited etc. try record own drums to get more live feel from percs.
if u can't record some darbuka's - use best samples. try to find not so sterile drum samples as most of the modern ones. in these tracks i used samples.
as to processing, well, i eq them a bit, compress a bit and leave space for percussion in the mix. i like when percs sound natural.
also i route percs and hihats (except crash sound) to a group channel and compress them together with fairly big attack (5-15 ms), short release (15-30 ms) and small ratio (1:1.10-1:1.50 kinda thing). in this case you will have kinda low threshold. these numbers are only initial ponits, you have to use the ears to get that moment when percs are glued and start working together with the song.

Recently I was lurking Youtube and found this clip that shows how Philips' Ambilight techniology is working. The video was nice, but the sound was really bad though. So I added my track there, just for fun
