"Prima Materia" is the most ambitious works on "Paradolia". Here he unites his two early influences of classical music (he is classically trained in the cello and piano) and early house to detonate a symphonic explosion that sounds like nothing else around. The a-side opens with the devastating "Abort Mix". Here the strings are torn up and placed back together like a Picasso on heat all over a patchwork of up-tempo pulsing rhythms. Following on is the "Vapid Mix" of "Always & Forever". Originally released on 7th Sign Recordings, Soma just couldn't pass up the chance to have this fluttering techno workout on here. The dynamic builds continually throughout, guaranteed to get the floor moving. Concluding the EP is a superb re-edit of the original "Prima Materia", a string quartet for the modern electronic era. DJ support from Tiga, Ewan Pearson, DJ 3000, James Holden, Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Steve Bug, Ivan Smagghe, Slam, Dave Congreve, Dave Mothersole, Damian Lazarus, Miss Kitten, Dom Chung, Layo and Jon Marsh.
