I have them. I think they are really good for the price, a little too "bassy", tough. I dont like the Reveal series, too thin, like too small sound. ;S |

I would say that you are taking a step down with going fra Tannoy Reveal Passive to a pair of M1's!
My cousin is using the M1's. I dont think that they sound that neutral. Shure They sound good but I think they have a very soft sound rather than revealing. I also find them to bass heavy.
I would love them for music listening though.
I think that the best/most pro cheap monitor might be the Yamaha MSP5. Atleast thats what the people who have tried then say. Also pros recommend these over most monitors at this price and even more expensive ones. |

I really don't like the m1's at all.. I have a set of mk1s and I have a friend with the mkIIs and I really didn't like the sound of them at all.

I have them and I love them. If they are too bassy, just stuff some clothing in the bassreflex holes
And as you said, I think they are the best monitors you can get for that price. Not ideal for a pro studio, but very good for a home studio.

Also M-Audio BX8a... $500 bucks and nice sound too! Actually a better option than the TR6s, but very close and probably a matter of taste. So any of the two is good.

i used to think alesis gave d most bang for the buck if u were on a low budget but there r better sounding monitors out there that cost the same or just a lil more...for example krk RP6, Fostex PM1, Samson Rubricon 6a...but at the end of the day buy wtever sounds best to ur ears..
