Are there any much differences between these 2 active monitors?
I know that the Alesis are good but I've also heard good things about the Samson (Rubicon Series).
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...!

I would go alesis for sure.
Very characteristic, but on the better side

I dont know about those alesis, but I got the Alesis M1 Active Mk2 for years now and I can say they re really worth their price...sure its not the top, and you can get much better monitors if you invest a lot more, but in this price range I would always go for alesis

from my experience with alesis, they sound a little boxy, the rubicons sound more open but they lack the low frequency defenition. if i was you i would try to listen to both of them at the same time and do a/b test befor u decide, and if the store can give u a pare for testing at home that would help u make a better decision. also be aware that the monitors wont sound the same in the store as in ur room. |

also i would like to add, that u go for rubicon 6a not 5a...if you decide on samsons. 6a sound more natural and fuller.
if you have patience then save some more money and buy the dynaudios or adam.
i think that if u really serious about music production then dont make the same mistake everyone makes..and its rushing. save and buy something that u wont have to sell in a year when your skills develop. |

i can say that alesis definately have eggsagerated frequencies when you compare to flat true reference monitors like yamaha.
in my opinion alesis are shit and i would never mix or create noises on them because they don't transulate, especially the alesis m1 those are proper crap, and sound like crap.
so if your gonna get 1 of the 2 you mentioned, i'd get the samson, but i still would go for yamaha speakers every-fukin-time. |
