Hello,
my first post here...let me start with saying hi to all of you I saw some very interesting discussions on this forum, but I never saw a topic about this synth, Alesis Ion. Judging by presets Ive heard on the net, its very interesting synth - very raw sounds, superior filters (for VA, that is), impressive modulation matrix, etc. And costs much less than Virus and Nord...so, if anyone played with it, Id like to hear his/her opinion...greetz,
I. |

hay
cant say i reely know it but i did had a few times on it it is very nice n offers qualty sound in a cheap price but as a virus owner i can say its still far away from being at the same level.
for me it was quite simple the ion dosent offers the same capabilities like the virus.
n dont look on the price cause somtimes its worth waiting a while n having somthing that will satisfy your hunger for sound. |

Hey Adi-Q,
when you say that ion dosent offer the same capabilities like the virus, what exactly do you mean? Onboard effects, more polyphony and parts? Or, are you refering to the pure quality of sound of oscillators and filters? I am asking this because I never had hands-on experience with Virus and Ion, Ive heard a bunch of demos of both synths (and heard Virus in so many trax, too:-) )and I liked Ion more. It just sounds more punchy to me,especially those filters, and there are 20 types of them...hmmmm... |
