the alesis andromeda is a cult synth has you say my dear friend but most of ppl dont know it cause its very expansive!!
This baby as got 24 bits FX and real i mean REAL analogue sound, that results in the most powerful sound i have ever listen in a synth!!!
The only bad thing is the detune functions on it are permanently, this means that you have to get great knowledge in synthesis and tuning the sounds again, otherwise you get some permanently distorted sounds, also the fact of only having 16 voices is not so good ,but fuck man ,its analogue, and the moment you ear it you stay inlove with that thing !!
NORDLEAD is a babys TOY compared to this one man even the NORD 3 stays real far from this!!

I wish i could get some money to buy this baby !!
I have a friend that has one and ......
Only hearing it in some good mackie HR 824 with a Genelec Subwoofer you see how this baby can sing !!

the andromada is soooo not better then the nord!
nord is an alwayz will be the best...
the sounds it produces will never be acceded.
u all dont understand that a synth is like food!
kol hamosif gorea! or in english everything u add takes off its quality.
i think that 12 pholiphony nord is an AMAZING instroment & combined with cubase 5.0, a good mixer, a powerful computer and a good effect wrack will do the job!
after listening to the nord i started believe that god has sent it to us people in order to relief our pain & suffery of life!
have a blast.

i think of the red one as a fast food, which i perssonaly like, i guess since it's virtual analog, it will be allways luck some of the fatitude you get from a true analog synth, add to this the full midi control and it's becoming what only the few can afford.

there is great samples of true analog on the web, so whoever look for it, can find some without robing the nearest bank.

dear Krolder, if Andromeda is analog,
then how come 24 bits ?

i'm sure there's many other interesting words you could use to discribe this splendid synth, but these ....take control of yourself.
:)

Hey there Bilbo

Correct me if im wrong ,but you can have a old analogue vintage synth connected to a TC-eletronic high quality (24 bits) multi FX- Processor,no?????
So the main thing in Andromeda is that Alesis Routed the analogue boosted signal thru the 24BITS
built in FX processor, what can surely enhance the super sound of the Synth!!!

P.S.Hey Bilbo where are you from buddy ?
Send me some mail so we can chat for a while !!!

Be happy

i'm also certain you can record the A6 into a 24bit card of a PC, and then it becomes also 24 bit audio, or of course, you can run your own voice through TC digital filter ... this doesn't make you a vintage mega gala polyphonic synth :)

there's no digital filters in the synth according to Alesis.com: only a Motorolla processor for the control/midi units, but no digital stuff in the audio routing process as far as i can see in the specs.

maybe you're right and the filters inside are actually digital... but this would be a scandal .. i think....

filters r analog, but
there's 2 types of fx - analog & digital!!!
i just wonder why Alesis did not put T.C.electronics trademark anywhere in the manual...

my mail is still in the left bottom corner of each my message, under the "mail" icon :)
