I'm trying to route audio into Albino - why you ask? Well, I have plenty of effects available like most of us do but some of the Albino sample packs I own have various audio in presets that I'd like to preview.
Has anyone successfully figured out the routing? I know you need to send midi to the albino to hear your audio passing through. The Linplug site covers the routing in tutorials for many DAW's but not cubase.
I specifically need to know how to direct the audio output from an audio track to the audio input (selectable through the oscillator module) in Albino.
Many soft synths allow for this but I'm having trouble finding instructions (youtube, etc) that cover the routing. It should be easier in Cubase 4.1xx because of the sidechaining feature, right?
Thanks for your time.

Won`t work...
have tried it long time ago already..
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=211043
even with cubase 5 its not possible sadly..
go for Zebra..there will come out zebra 2.5 in the next time, wich will include a seperate plugin called zebrify wich is basically zebra just as insert fx..it has pitch&transient detection, midi trigger in..so you can use an additional osc or fmo wich is triggert by your midi or audio source..and so on...huge posibilities coming up with that..
check out Zebra forum on Kvr ..there is already a beta of zebrify flying around in some threads..
hope that helps a little..at least you can stop to try it with albino.. ;9
cheers

Yep Zork, I read about it yesterday when I searched the web. Well, no big deal really. But many other plug-ins are visible as FX (e.g. Absynth) and I would like to learn the routing in general.
I guess one of the problems is that the Albino does not show up in the available effects for an insert.
I guess it's possible though if you have Logic? It's just a Cubase issue?
I don't have Zebra but most everything I've read is good. My most recent buy was Camel Alchemy. I have to let the bank account recover now.

there is a difference between VST and VSTi:
VST can be used as insert (for audio or midi processing)
VSTi can be triggered by MIDI as an instrument.
you just have to open *plug-in information* in cubase ...
on the very right I/O column you can see the inputs/outputs of each plug-in
or sort that list by category ... there's instruments and fx (beside a few others).
if the instrument plug-in has no input channels, you cannot route towards it. http://www.myspace.com/realtimeproject |

There is actually a way around this, I've done it before. You'll need to use a vst that hosts other vsti's such as xlutop chainer or energy XT
Chainer
http://www.xlutop.com/
EnergyXT
http://www.energy-xt.com/
I'm not at home so I may have to double check when I have Cubase around me.
1.)You'll need a MIDI track (Abino requires MIDI notes being sent to it for the audio to be heard)
2.) Place Xlutop or chainer as an insert on the channel you want to be effected by Albino.
3.) Open Albino in Chainer or EnergyXT
4.) Next choose the Chainer or EnergyXT you loaded in the output selection of the MIDI channel.
5.) Write some MIDI notes in and play it back. It should work.
I haven't done it in a while but I'm pretty sure this is the way I did it.
I know it works because I was determined to find a way a while back and did.
If this doesn't work let me know and I'll take a look at it again when I'm at home.
