Hey Guys , i was wondering if its possible to do atleast a 1 hour live set on the Mpc , by this i mean assigning loops, sequences to the pads which can be triggered live , if so what is the maximum sample length you can assign? By Specs the mpc 1000 can do 99 sequences and 20 songs of 250 steps? what is the 250 steps being referred to? Also on some wesbite it mentioned that 1 sequence can have as many as 999 measures (im guessing bars?) if someone who has experience with mpcs can shed light plz, im considering buying one for mainly live purpose and the oddball trackwriting...
Now i know you can do all that and more on Ableton Live + Akai APC , but why am i lookin for an option like this? answer is simply to get rid of the Laptop on stage

hm, maybe try to borrow one in a shop for test purpose,if its possible for you..

I figured out that i will need 2 mpcs to do the trick , mpc 500 is very portable and will do the job i think so i just ordered one to check the possibilites ....lets see how it goes

I just bought a mpc500 and it looks very sexy:P.. apart from that its very possible to do a liveset on 2 of these cuz 1 will not hold more then 1 fulltrack at a time in maxed out memory. It has a nice warm sound which translate nicely to my ears and its very portable to carry thus solving my problem of taking my macbook on stage for live
It can do 48 tracks + control outboard synths thru midi.
