To all of the composers out there, I'm trying to compose tunes that would be similiar to air, in their bpm ofcourse and in their chilled basslines, the problem is I assume their bpm is between 60 - 90 but I really cant get more specific than that. Anyone willing be more specific ? and also, I would truly apperciate tips on how to create ambient basslines, etc.... I Stopped doing acid, therefore I stopped creating psytrance. But then I Started smoking tons of pot, and now I feel like making ambient. HELP ME. I'm FUCK*D. |

Making melodies which sound like "something" is not a good idea. You'll never be satisfied, and if you will, it's not good either. Just flow. Anyway - here's a method of making ambient: Think of a wierd story. Imagine that story as a motion picture. Make a soundtrack for that picture. You can also try muting old 60's horror movies and rewrite their soundtrack. :) |

i dont see the problem - if their bpm is between 60 - 90 so make trax in 60- 90 bpm. this remind me of a joke- an American women, a Polish women and a French women are having a discussion: what do u do if youre stranded on a desert island with 200 marines who have not seen a women (A LIVE ONE...:)) in months. The Polish women says - I commite suiside. The American Women - I'll have sex with the commander and he'll protect me from the rest. The french women doesnt answer. the two others say to her: "Nicol, why you dont answer? you dont understand the question?" so Nicol answers - "I understand the question - but I dont see the problem..."

try to work in the rangr of 95 - 105 bpm in my opinion this is the bpm for ambient because u can hear the sounds much more flowing & harmonic yet it's sounds groovy enough to shake u'r hips & ties take any track u like , put it in 100 bpm & it will sounds good good luck finnaly someone who's not rushing to do karahana... |
