I prefer Gamma Goblins part 69 than todays vacuum cleaner noise music. Sorry.

Some day ago i heard "Shabby Trance" from hallucinogen and it sounds exactly like that. I just dont like it, and at some moments it was screaming so much that i needed to turn down the volume, and i listen music very loud - all the time and all the music.

This is where it all started really.

Giorgio Moroder's 16th synth basslines are used still to this day and he did it in the 70s! Talk about music ahead of its time.

I still play the Plump DJs bootleg of this.

don't take me wrong..posford is old skool ,and mixing in the odd old psychedelic tracks is absolutely fine by me...but come on...Age of Love!!

When you ever write or release a tune as good as Age of Love - then feel free to come back and post such a comment!

To be fair - you're right - Simon Posford has been playing excatly the same set for years (no doubt he also played On Her Majesties Service as well) - but it always seems to go down well, with people enjoying it which - call me old fashioned - is the main reason for a night out...

wouldn't you guys prefer to hear simon posford playing some new music of his own rather than mixing in music that is really quite dated and not very psychedelic...

"I think" the point that Age of Love isn't psychedelic and is being mixed into a supposidly psychedelic set by one of the pioneers in this scene shows that mr posford is more into Spongle now than into psychedelic DANCE MUSIC...and by mixing that tune in, is showing that point completely..i mean if He had done a remix of Age of Love,i think more credit would be due and u lot could all remaniss and still move forward!!

I think your way off base. After hearing the sphongle set 4 times now, for me it is more psychedelic than just about any other music. Maybe not all his tracks are really psychedelicy sounding, but that is by design to momentarily lighten up the moment with some fun. The sounds that he creates are as rare and strange sounding as it gets. He's been there and done that, and moved on to another element of music that is not just trance. Trance does not alwayz = psychedelic, just because it doesnt have the traditional 4/4 doesn not mean it is not psychedelic DANCE music. I think a lot of people get caught up in the trance element too much and if it doesnt have the over 145 bpm then by many it's not considered psychedelic. That's utter boooo shiiiat. Open up your minds, you don't have to alwayz expect the rippin 4/4's in order to enjoy it in a psychedlicy manner. After this past weekend hearing Simon at Symbiosis in California, i remember making a mental note to myself, remembering that this was the peak of psychedelia for me. He's an absolute master at what he does, and to tell you the truth i think he got bored of just making trance, and wanted to go somewhere even deeper and more creative.

I dont mind at all that he plays many of his same tracks, it's a great show, and that's what most people want to hear. I know I'm one of those people.

so u r agreeing with me that mr posford is bored of the 4x4 and therefore SHOULD be sticking to playing his spongle set, rather than the HALLUCINOGEN set...ok thats a start.

So do u think its a good thing for him to mix Age of Love in to spongle?

I haven't heard a single complaint from the crowd, in fact i haven't witnessed such energetic dancefloor in years. The man knows his work and no other producer in the scene can create such havoc in the dancefloor. I think the last time i've witnessed such madness was Infected Mushroom gig but it's totally other story.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Only a great name as Hallucinogen has the ability of mixing TAOL with recent tracks. It sounds perfect, and you have to have some elegance in yourself to appreciate this. And you Nonly 6 months-old tracks, pleeeaseN guys will have to swallow some comebacks this year. ILm curious to check out Perplex remix of KLF 3a.m. Eternal - which was another trance hit in the early 90Ls.
Has someone heard it?

Peace

Growling Machines made a crappy version of it.
It was released in their debut album.

I think people (DJ's, artists) should always put some nostalgy in their performances. Play old and classic tunes.

We don't want "inrileased" stuff only.
We want good music, wether it's old, or new!!
But usually, old stuff is better!

This way we can rememeber how the good times were actually great ones!!!

Regards!!!

..does this mean a Dj could wack in a king crimson tune in the middle of his set.i mean its not electronic but its old skool trance at its best!!

i always thought this scene was cutting edge..breaking new boundaries..but no new boundaries broken here like one may hope from a pioneer..just a good mix of an old trance tune.

obviously..this is my own opinion,i dare say people will disagree.thats what discussions are all about hey;)

It used to be like that. Few people now-a-days are still keeping those thoughts. And we really appreciate those who do it.
This is the main reason that we like listening to old stuff.

We respect you opinion. And i'm sure many people agree with you.
If people didn't have different opinions, there wouldn't be any argues right??

Best regards!
