Ok, i heard snippets of those limited edition vinyls. Only 2 weeks passed and they're already a collectors item.
And i have only 1 question.

It's not that it's not norman or something.
It's just few raw Oberheim/Moog sounds thrown over some basic rhythm.
I guess that Minimal is his new direction?

Naw, what I was pointing out that he's usually very busy at trying to not sound like himself (and always fails in some undefined bizzare way). That "WTF???" from you was probably the reaction he was striving for.

i've herd it and i realy liked it. the first track is very good. i do know that alot of afx fans didnt like it. i gues for them it's like idm going commercial.
i think he relesed another one ... (correct me if im wrong ¿) |

but "idm going commercial" i dunno .. afx was already
in the big league and quite poshed up ..
maybe "becoming even more commercial" :o)
i never referred to "it" as IDM coz i think what the "I" stands for
is quite arrogant - rendering all other DM non-intelligent?
... but what's inna name?

i didnt realy under stood your msg ther but ... idm will never become mainstream so dont worry. afx maybe successfull but youl never hear him in the radio at noon. :\
i have one question about this guy...
someone once told that aphex twin is a russian artist who got so rich from his music that he became mentaly defected , bout an old submarine from the russian army and currntly living in his safe in his bank with all his money stinding besides his.
ofcourse i was shooked to find that this is all not true (i sew his calendur so i gues it made sence back then)
did any of you herd that legend ? ¿ ?

lol, geezer..havent heard that legend of the man. funny nonetheless. i can see why all the legends about him come from, as he always talks alot of rubbish in interviews, like composing his albums while sleeping.
but he does own an armored truck and lives in a bank.
about the analord series.
it's a series of 12", atleast 10 parts. #10 was released as a 180g audiophile vinyl with an exclusive binder that will hold the rest of the series. this of course sold out, and is now on ebay for sale, with ridicolous prices. the rest of the vinyls are distributed the normal way and #10 will be re-released in the end, as a normal vinyl.
with the analord series he is going back to using analog equipment and making acid tunes it seems. some say it could be an anthology of the styles he has covered over his career. |
