Afula On (Com.pact)

Compiled by Sesto Sesto & mastered by Lior Perlmutter (Astral Projection), this cd aims to gather artist’s production from Sesto Sento hometown : Afula, secondly as the title says it we got track selection focusing on full on, so expect less Com.pact groovy full on trademarks than usual.

1. Sesto Sento – Teddy Enters Wonderland
Sesto Sesto (Aviram Saharai,Itai Spector,Matan Kadosh) don’t deliver kinda plush atmosphere like i was thinking with such a trackname. Indeed it’s closer to something like ‘Primi TB’ than to some other of their more emotionnal stuffs, a quite good track but not among their best ones due to the quite common track’s stucture.

2. Apocalypse – Play Boy
Apocalypse (Itai Yona) don’t dissapoint me once again after Master Peace & Fucking Noise, how long would it possible for him to keep this high level of production & creativity ? I don’t know, just let wish him to be able to cook a full album as good as these 3 compilation’s stuffs.
Oh, at least, let’s say 2 words on Play Boy : it’s funky & floating in a global morning atmosphere, much more dedicated to the brain than the body comparing to his 2 previous tunes (but that don’t means it’s not danceable of course).

3. Ferbi Boys – Backteset 2004
A track from Ferbi Boys (Aviram Saharai,Itai Spector), cool , it was long time since i didn’t listen something new from this side ‘Sesto Sento’ project. There are some corosive, sharpy sounds supporting the nervous & tense spiralitic melody, quite unexpected from these guys, but prooves they’re comfortable with different trance orientations. I also the mysterious backgroundish leads starting 3’40 which come back by little touch later on.

4. Gataka vs Bizarre Contact vs Bishop – The Oracle
This trio (Matan Kadosh,Didi Ezra,Kfir Lankry,Chris Guimares) bring phat harmonies, an already heard break & lead at 3’30, puffing production indeed. You expect the thing to take off & it never does. Zero creativity, originality here for me, simply bad.

5. Aquatica – Place Of Panic
I’m not a big big fan of Aquatica (Elad Asy), it’s also the case here. Very phat sounding & harmonies. Seems the guy is fan of drumrolls build up & breaks (whaou what an originality & not clubbytrance at all !). Ok the positive point is the happy energy coming out the song, at final i would say it ’s an average & kickin track with limited production skills according to me.

6. Systemic – Systemic On A Machine (Ferbi Boys edition)
Newcomer Systemicn (Dekel Maman) shows more talent. The highlight of the track is without doubt when the lead gets hiccuping, very funny & skippy at 2’40 & later at 6’05, you can also expect some other highly twisted fx on the lead all along. Systemic On A Machine is a very nice finely chisellled production for a first track.

7. Intergalactic – Waves Of Joy
Intergalactic (Vik Shefy) begins with a sweet intro but the sound isn’t very clear , too saturated as the harmony (nevertheless the sweet tone comes back more clearly during the coretrack). Then all this get back to normal when the track is really launched : a speed groovy & melodic full on stuff. The main lead seems to have been already heared in many other tunes, & it’s get hacked after. Around 3’00 there’s also a woman autotuned sample which gets hacked. Nevertheless it’s a real rockin & effective stuff despite a few originality on sounds.

8. Gataka vs Thujon – Son Pax
This duo (Matan Kadosh,Simon Schwendener) try to make a chunky grovy full on stuff (not very fast i think) but it lacks too much things (a good melodic lead on at 6’30 end for example) to start being interesant even if the base idea was good, the result is too puffing & boring, average so . Just let’s keep trying maybe it’ll really work next time.

9. Apocalypse vs Sesto Sento – Soul Calibur
Last one a typical compact groovy full on conclusion, this collaboartion leads to more inspired musical material than the Teddy enters wonderland. Soul calibur includes some grinding tones all along & some changing bassline tone.

I find this compilation a bit weak (several tracks [1,5 for example] holds drumrolls part very eurodance construction alike), comparing to all the nice previous releases from Compact since their beginning, but perfection isn’t from our world & probably next release will come back to higher qualities.

Nice compliation from the light city, cool production!
Ferbi Boys new style is smashing, reminds me the good psysex, these guys stayed underground and came with a BANGS!
Number 9 is a big big dissapointed for me, expected for something more interesting (like Y2K)!
My favorites are: 1,2,3,6,7...
Keep it rocking!
The songs and the music that i portray, Comes from the heart and comes from the mind, That makes it, that makes me feel that i'm blurring? The right information.
