which are the best acts to be listened to at a party or a festival in the afternoon timee ...say from 11 am to 5 pm......
what kind of music apart from progressive to full on can get the most ppl jumping on there feet , coz afternoon is the time when the energy levels of the ppl are down . |

The best thing is a deejay set starting from pumping proggy stuff, fading out to tribal house and then energic breakbeat to finally slow down with uptempo chilled beats getting more and more slow..
This is what happened at the Little ZoOm 2003 (Switzerland) with the team Dash & Sanuk (Desert Sun, Shellsplinta records) after the first night (friday)..
That was something..

Yeah fully. hearing alot of late afternoon daytime psy/Breaks as of late, and ppl are loving it...... and yah cant beat some nice big phat DUB in day as well
here r a few day time artists im injoying at the moment for great for chugging away getting a tan, and loosing thos muscles...

11am = Afternoon?
disregarding this small inconsistency (I'd say afternoon's around 14-17), maybe the best would be to lay down with kicks and let people relax a bit. The hottest time of any day, ppl can get dehidrated very easily.
I'd go for some dubby stuff (not over-psychodelic like OTT/Bluetech, but rather Vibraspherish), then later when the sun is lower I'd go for live set by Afterlife or Zero7 to welcome the sunset.

I would go for some nice proggy tunes or perhaps even minimal around 3pm ....some haldolium, atmos, antix, freq, etc gets it going pretty nicely. As for dj sets I'd like to hear james monroe, peter digital, emok or pena spinning...
There's also this mexican live act, Ecliptic, which works wonders in the daytime/afternoon... totally groovy music in a category of its own....perfect for these hours.

Some reggae would be cool, but what I would love to hear during the afternoon would be some classic psychedelic rock or some Alan Parson's project, some Skynard, or maybe a comedy hour where someone's doing standup.... Something other than beats would be nice for midday.
