It was very very relaxing weekend spent with many old and new friends in a beautifull location. I wish I had a time and money to come back for Shpongle show
So ....
Judging by all those people from different states that showed up and great location I think this festival has a potential to grow and become main and/or one of the most important gatherings in US.
A lot of room for improvement though:
-better marketing
- main stage had no music till late evening everyday (I know there were rituals going on, but for the rest of the day this stage imho should be transformed into chill stage)
- chill stage location imho was a big mistake (most people ususally don't care about it anyway, so isolating that stage by putting it@bottom of big hill caused quite opposite effect - most people gave up on coming back after 1 trip or did not go there at all) - it should be located closer to camping site so more people could hang out there ...
- Daia's great backdrops were almost invisible@night due to lack of black lights
- not quite sure about isolating most artists from other attendees I wanted to catch few artists and say "hello" but was to shy to just walk into VIP area
i'm sure they didn't label it the VIP area, but thats what it probably was...VIP and psytrance - isn't it just ironic
claims of being family, VIP, and rituals

Nope. Camping area near showers where most artists & crew members were sleeping I just call it vip cause it was well hidden and required extra effort to get there No bad feelings behind my words:)

oh i see.. a lot of different folks camped in that area, it was mostly those who got there early on, since those spots had electric/water hookups.

Despite a few organizational "hiccups", the energy was incredible! Saturday night the flancedoor was like a bubbling tumultuos cauldron! Absolutely primal!! It was great raging on the floor with folks from all over the country. Glad I got to meet lots of folks who were just screen names before.

I would like to thank everyone involved for
all their hard work and planning. It was
a great experience for me and it was
so good to finally connect with the west
coast family!

I'm back from Arkansas and still recovering from what was a wonderful experience! It was so great to connect with everyone!

I too had a really good time. Unfortunately, due to airline snafu's, I was only able to be at the festival for 16 hours. I was pissed!!!!!
Word to the wise, DO NOT FLY AMERICAN AIRLINES.
Friday afternoon was supposed to fly out, but due to "mechanical failure" my shit got postponed until saturday morning.
Then trying to leave on Sunday, I got trapped in Dallas airport for 7 hours because American didn't have a flight crew for our plane. Then when they got there, we taxie'd out to the runway.
Then, *BAM* another "mechanical failure". Back to the terminal, get off the plane another hour later, get back on the plane.
Both my departing and arriving flight had plane problems, their shit is falling apart and the service from the employees was terrible.
As for the festie itself, WOW!! Great deco from everybody, great music on saturday night and sunday morning, and awesome connections with killer people.
I really wish I had more time there, thank you again for inviting me to participate in the festival. I hope everybody makes it home safe and sound.

yup american sucks, only airline with older planes and more delays is NWA...
Anyways as for Aum. The spot was great. I cant tell you how glad i am to have a viable and now active trance venue so close to me in the ozarks..
The Vibe at Aum too, was just fantastic, lots of happy smiling faces about. Really enjoyed hanging with Lauryn and Meghan.
I do feel the event does need some work, but anything of this undertaking in its first year is bound to have some bugs sorted out. Nothing goes smoothly the first time around.
My first suggestion is more musical variety. This was my sticking point on the festi since the get go, and though i realize some folks representing other sounds did not show, it really wasnt a balanced lineup. Please for future years, include a full on dj / promoter or prog dj/ promoter in the planning crew. Someone that can just equally argue and make sure their interests are coverd just as much as everyone elses.
This is not to say the music at Aum was not quality, but it did lean heavily on one spectrum of sound.
The chill space's location really didnt lend itself too well to being visited. There was some great chill being played at times but being so far removed, made getting to it harder.
and lastly... Canopy on the dancefloor. Whether just 4 easy ups zip tied together, or a full suspended overhead canopy, ANY time there is a party where temps will go above 80 and tree cover doesnt fully protect a dance floor, i think a canopy is a must, over any other deco item. Think comfort first, looks second.
ps. the DJ booth was awsome however, and made playing in the heat of the day easy enough.
pps. The food vendors (esp) the Burritos kicked major arse
Logical Light Music - SF
Straylight Productions -SF
Sound/Mind - Denver
Xcience - Midwest
But, seeing as how they closed the gate to enter the airport at 10pm, I would not have been able to get back in to board the plane.
Thanks for the offer bro!

It was great hanging with you too! It was also great hanging with Lauryn, Dean, Ghreg on Earth and especially MUBALI!!!
I had such an amazing time at the fest! Thank you to the AUM crew for having me out to play! The table for the main stage was a little on the high side though, so both Lauryn and I had to stand on my CDJ 1000 cases to play.
It was great to finally meet and dance with a bunch of peeps from around the country. My calves are EXTREMELY sore from all the walking and dancing! I wish I could've been there for the whole thing, but I have the rest my vacation days at work reserved for other gigs, etc.

GREAT GREAT PARTY!
one of my favorites yet! thanks to all of the promoters, the djs, the venue owner, and most of all, THE PEOPLE ON THE DANCEFLOOR! Seriously, you people rock! ive never seen a dancefloor with so many energetic, smiling faces. keep up what your doin!
next time just a bit of advice, keep timeslots on time, get a rain tent if needed and this will deter any delays or complaints by artists. other than that great job everyone. AMAZING! Keep up the great work.
and now onto uncharted territory, then Reunion!
my favorite sets: Mubali, Dmitry, Onnomon, Primordial Ooze, Monks of Madness, Freaks of Nature, Facehead, Moksa and many more i cant think of at the moment.

Saturday night/Sunday morning...Amazingly intense music and the beautiful vibes. So many friendly ppl doing their craaaaaaaazy dances. I literally haven't felt that way in years. My friends actually planned their night so that they would be feeling super good after the heart of the night and more towards the morning, to better enjoy melodic slower music. Obviously that didn't work out, but they all thought the experience was perfect...really quality music of any genre can always pull a fast one on your predefined notions of what you like musically.
Re: the chill stage, it's a tricky trade-off, because I totally agree with the comments posted here, but on the other hand the lack of sound bleed gave it a huge leg up on almost every chill area I've experienced. What to do?
and re: better marketing, I'm sure many folks wish there had been like 1000 ppl or whatever, and it makes things run smoother financially, but for me, it was the best-vibing ppl who came and I'd never want to exchange that for bigger numbers. The family atmosphere made this a magical experience for me, and it would be a bummer to see that lost. Occasionally there are some festivals that can pull it off the best vibe and lots of peeps, but I think it's generally a trade-off, and I doubt there could be the same feeling of a collective mission of hardcore dancefloor freaking out, even if there were more cool people there in general, if the additional cool ppl weren't as dedicated to the music. Just my 2 cents.
anyway, big thanks to all the people who made it happen.
