Well this cd was supposed to be all-african talents from a new label called zulu warrior, yet I don't know how etnica got there, maybe by their african soul..
Some of these tracks are released for the first time, part of which may be actually african. all the tracks, however, have that tribal feeling - hence the name of this collection.
I didn't know who is this nagual until this one. cute track, that's the word, i think, describes it best, cute (and tribal). the cd continues with 2 etnica tracks, I knew Patricia and indeed it has that tribal feeling to it. Trip in Transkei is very much alike.The martian's track is one of my favorites, really gets toward the "psy" part of this album. faster beats makes this one danceable and groovy. Star sound Orchestra's tracks have the same feeling as previous. lowering the bpm and letting the tribal groovy feeling enter. burundi is great, kinda scottish ???
Jorge Carlos is another pleasent surprise (doesn't sound so african though). haibo is pretty dull but Afrodisiac is great. The closing track, breaker, from a group i don't know. again, preserving the natural african spirit of this cd.
overall, not that psy, but good groove and tribal beat. good for getting connected with your african soul ;)
