From veteran Psy producer Dj Guyshanti another progressive release under his Progressive alias Aerospace on the recently launched Israel label Digital Nature.

Guy Youngman is better known in the Psy scene as Dj Guyshanti. The 38 years old Israeli born producer launched the Aerospace Progressive Trance project in 2005. In just 5 years he already released 3 full length artists album and a remixes album. The last one in Autumn 2009 titled Stereo Flip.
Aerospace – Re Entry EP (Digital Nature)
1. Re Entry
An excellently crafted mysterious atmospheric intro kicks off this EP. The deep and dark tone continues even after an effectively combination of kick and bassline is introduced. Rather than proceed with an accumulation of elements, the first half is a work of subtractions and additions, until a very nice melancholic melody takes center stage in the middle part of the track. This melody works beautifully in contrast with the darker mood of the track. Overall an excellently crafted production and a must check out for any Progressive Psy Trance listener.
2. Mega Pop Kit
Mega Pop Kit is mainly characterized by a really groovy bassline. Also the melodic construction emerges from the standard we are used and like the previous track this will be a joy to dance to on the dancefloors. Unfortunately the voice samples that in our opinion are mostly ruining the majority of Psy Progressive tracks make an even more frequent appearance here compared to Re Entry. We know voice samples have been a convention in this genre since years, but we think productions would greatly benefit if they would be used only when they have a purpose and actually add something to the track. In this case and many other productions you could easily remove them without losing anything. But we realize this is a cause that we are bringing forward that will not find many Psy producers and listeners in agreement.
Verdict: this new EP by Aerospace clearly stands out compared to the average quality of Progressive Psy tracks these days. Re Entry in particular is a very nice track that we recommend to check out.
