Well i read all the "mother of..." threads but i was left with some doubts regarding my setup....
I own a soundcard emu404 where i plan to plug my midi/synth, also as i dont have enough money to buy good monitors im stiking with headphones. My questions are:
The regular sounds of windows will go through the emu404 since i cannot use both soundcards (im refering to the soundcard that came with the computer), right? But still i would like to use my crappy computer speakers to reproduce these computer/windows sounds....Is it easy to achieve this in the setup? Im still away from my small studio and this doubt has been eating me

You can still use the default mixer that came with your motherboard, but you have to change the settings everytime. You cannot use both the sound cards at the same time. But why do you want to use the default soundcard when you have a better one?

I would also suggest that if your computer's soundcard is an integrated sound chip, you should disable it in the bios as well.
A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life. |
