oh god, cut something in that bass! just sweet an EQ around and cut somewhere in the 100-250 hz range. honestly, this would sound SO fucking ill with idm/chillstep style sub bass. burial's or breakage's sub, with your jazz on top, would be fantastic. it mights not sound fantastic on small speakers, but on a big system it would just MOVE people in all the right ways.
the drums need more stereo. panning and/or spreading the hihats will do a lot right off the bat. you could spread the snare just a little bit as well.
pick a different snare sample imo, or tighten it up somehow (less reverb, gate it, etc).
pan some of the leads - the keyboardy one at 8:10, say, would sound good with clever, intense, automated panning. any solo type lines like this can be made incredible if you tread panning, reversing, modulation, etc, with the same importance as the melodies. this will DEFINITELY make it sound wider.
anyways, i'm only offering these "constructive criticisms" cuz i savagely dig this tune. good work bro!

i am at work on laptop speakers, so can't be sure, but i don't hear the problems in the bass?
a bit boring beat, sounds too much like a loop, bored of it very quickly. but some nice ideas, overal feel is nice.
imo nothing is wrong with the bass, about percs, yes, they seem like a loop and gets boring. you have some nice ideas here, keep it on

Not realy into this chillout style but imo (Even in chillout) track can be much more 'Rich' With an sounds and colors in (You want show us a world .. So why you dont let us feel comfortable in ? . Right .. ? So this is another point of thought to implement/Do 9 + Minute is 'Time') . Sure theres good ideas in but imo when you recycle and repeat them again and again , Nine min' (And again imo ..) Can crazy the listenrs ears , You need more development + more harmony of tool (The right one - Even if its minimal) To keep me (Or otheres in) . Read what luki write , Cut the bass this way so he will sit in place and not will radiate himself and spread to sides , Bring it be firm (More short , Pointed , Accurate , Deep and clean) .
Thanks very much guys for you honest responses. The drums are not a loop. Although in retrospect, i did not work on them hard enough. So my main focus will be to sharpen up the bass, take it out of stereo, and pan the drums more. Mix up the midi programing on the drums, and thicken the keyboardy leads pressence. As well as try to replace the snare. Too bad, i liked it!
thanks again. Ill post another version when these changes have been made.
alright guys, made some pretty major changes. thank you for inspiring me to dive back into my drums, led to some more expressive and original sounding beats. Hope you like the improvments. The bass is totally different. Went for some glitchy sine bass. Thanks again.

DDAMN that's cool!!!! shit. shit.
I'm, uh, not going over to logic to sort-of-copy that groove for my next tune.
kidding. sort of.
LOVE that main melody. beautiful.
the perussions fits together more now. some parallel compression might make it bite and stand out a bit more - consider it just for the mix, but the sound itself is nice.

haha i'm flattered. I dig your tunes man. Groovy happenings. Good psy step you're brewing over there. compression on the drums and hats is a good idea.
