I have one Virus, one Blofeld, one DR-880 and one Moog LP to plug

For the Moog Low Pass (isn't it mono by the way?) you will need an output from your mixer too. That is if you wanna feed it with anything from the sequencer.

ok so tell us more about:

1. sequencer/os

2. computer hardware

3. budget

Live 7 on WinXP

AMD 4800+ dual core
2 gig of RAM

I'm ready to put around 1000 $ for the sound card.

And yes, the LP is mono, thanks for pointing this out

As for the outputs, the MK3 has plenty.

I think the best option is to get an ultralite & a fireface from a store near you and try them at home

this way you know best what works with your system and what not.           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

Uuuuh, I don't quite understand, I know by looking at the fireface connectivity that it doesn't have enough inputs to suit my needs, why would I need to try it ?

Maybe I'm missing something ?

sorry but I thought 4 stereo ins would be enough...

you can also think about the motu 828 if you dont need a small interface.          https://soundcloud.com/hazak

Well, funny enough, the fireface has 4 inputs at the front and 6 at the back (that is line level inputs - synths and CD players and lots of other equipment) http://www.rme-audio.de/images/products/products_fireface_400_6b.jpg

while the Ultralite has 6 line level inputs at the back (the mic ones are no good as they're for micrphones and guitars - different impedence), it does have a spdif connection that'll allow you to hook up the virus digitally. http://www.harmony-central.com/ProductImages/Large/000001034.jpg

Damn, my noobishness is getting its insidious grip on me, I must admit that I'm a bit lost :' |

Is the follow picture "correct" ? I've just remembered that I could plus the DR-880 as mono without losing much possibilities.

oops. you're right. I've mixed the ins and outs

For mixers I've heard the Macike Onyx range sounds quite good.

Psytiax, that's about right though you can use the Ti as VST and save the physical connection, or use a digital connection and save yourself D/A stange.

I have a Mackie Onyx 1620 which i keep in a closet out of shame, i was really unstatisfied with this product, it did not live up to my expectations for a mackie product.

First of all the 3-4 "tape out" is not in balance, ie more comes out the left than the right. Second the volume values of the sepperate channels does not seem to be similar at all, more like totally individual. I have a friend who had the same mixer/problem - he sold his           www.parvati-records.com

How does it work to just split the input plugs? So you have to "inputs" pr input? Will it fuck around with inpendance or anything like that?

Cause... you arent using all of your inputs at the same time, mostly? Especially when your just having synths connected anyways...

Much cheaper to buy a cable split than a mixer?
