Hello. I think i finally have understood the dynamics and eq on a mix, and right know id like to move on to the use of reverbs .
Id like to know what kind of reverb (plugins for me now) you guys use. Right now i am using freeware Ambience, i have tried arts acoustic, but i like Ambience better. i dont have dsp uad or powercore only native vst.
I have heard that using 2 or 3 reverbs with different settings on send channels is a good idea, but could u share some of ur settings (for drums, leads, pads, etc)? maybe to much to ask , but that really help to get started.. tnx.

you can send all of your drum loop channels to the same reverb group it will sound more natural.
you can make crazy effects with the reverse and pre delay (if you have them on your reverb. try wizooverb v2 the best reverb for me)
if you want to use reverbs for short effects and sweeps a good thing is to automate the send up and up, i like it..
if your room have acoustics problems (and even if not), like most untreated rooms, than you should learn how much reverb is enough
, by listening to your mix in a few more speakers\rooms. you cant make mistakes when it comes to reverb
more tips please...

I think what you mean with 2-3 send reverbs is a technique often used in pop/rock music.

here it goes for 2 reverbs: you take one reverb just for early reflections, not much high damping, kinda short predelay...then the 2nd one just for the reverb with much high damping. then you send the sounds in both reverbs, the proportion between the amounts sent to them will determine how far the sound is away...near by sounds got much early reflections and less reverb, and far away sounds much reverb and less early reflections. what you can do now (works much better with dual mono tracks btw) is also change the amount between left and right channels of a sound that is sent to the reverbs...if its a true stereo verb and you just send the left side of a stereo channel to it, the early reflections will come first from the left and then from the right, what will give you the impression the sound is more left.

this way you can build a nice room for your whole track, just with 2 reverbs           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

"Hmm, yeah... All the time, man - it's called mescaline. The only way to fly!"
