hey guys
im playing around with a demo of reason
im interested in getting it, i already use hardware synths, but i want to bolster them with software
im using cakewalk8, which dont wanna get rdi of (and i may soon be buying sonar), as this is what i want to sequence with

basically, how easy is it to control reason from another sequencer? i obviously want to continue to use the reason interface for setting up racks, and actualkly creating the synth patch to start with
but i want to sequence from cakewalk
however, i do much prefer reasons sytem of adjusting parameters of devices, ie: if you have a synth loaded, you are in the sequencer vier, and programming up the part for that- underneath the edit view you can open an edit view for parame3ters, like filter cutoff or attack. i want to use this part of reason because it is much easier to control the parameters using the reason system....

so is this going to be possible, given that i want to sequence from cakewalk??can i 'dual sequence' from the two, ie: pogram the part in cakewalk with reason open at the same time, but simultaneously program parameter changes in the reason sequencer part?? (i suspect the answer is going to be no)

any help u can give is much pareciated

reason can be controlled via Rewire2 protocol or simply used as audio source for other program.

afaik, neither sonar nor cw do not understand Rewire.
this means you can only use Reason either as stand alone production tool (u can use your hw recorded and load into your NN19 sampler in reason,
or the opposite - record the sounds from Reason and use them in CW/Sonar.

the seq that do support Rewire2 - allow you to control Reason in MIDI - as if it were a synth, and in Audio as if it were regular audio channel.

the seqs that support it: Cubase, Logic, Nuendo, Live.
maybe i've missed something.
