Hey everyone, i have a question about sample's bpm.
Sometimes when I put a sample on a track with a certain bpm and the sample
was recorded in a different bpm the sample obviously doesnt sound good in my track.
How can I adjust this? make the sample's bpm
match my track's bpm......
10x

i say Recycle or you can time stretch it with a audio editor...
sometimes if there is too much of a difference you will get artifacts.. but it should work fine...
Dr-rex in reason is also nice...
I never really came to turns with cubase Sx 3 audio editors Time stretch function for exact bpm correction, but i guess you can use the slice function in cubase and get good results.. i havent worked so much with it..
i dont do it to often.. in FL you have SliceX which is pretty good

I work with cubase sx3 and my problam to be more exact is that I hear a sample lets say a kick sample,
than I put it in my project and it sound totaly different
and I was wandering why is it happening.
Thought maybe it was bpm differences but im not so sure anymore.
So maybe someone can help?
Thanx again....

yeah well then i know what you mean, i had it aswell
go to the audiopool and you might see that the tempo of the audiofile is ??? then try and manually write the tempo and see if it works....
one time when i made some beats in FL and then exported and brought into nuendo it couldnt read them and they sounds deranged and distorted, so i check the audiopool to see their tempo and it was none or just way wrong.. but i knew the tempo and changed it manually and it worked...
i dont really know what this is about, a bug or a lack of knowledge.. hehe

In which way does it sound different?
And is it a loop or just a single shot? It is usually best to just use single shots. For loops there is the timestretch option but it doesnt work well if there is a big difference between your tempo and the loop's tempo. Then it might be better to put it in ableton, stretch it and export it to cubase. |

are the timestretch functions better in ableton than in steinberg (mpex2 algorythm f.e.) ?
In cubase the timestrech for me did it satisfying so far but there are unsolved problems too. When sampling synphonic character it is mostly heard how hard to achieve sound synched ,mostly it has to do with the character or sort of bar itself than you can only work with slices and warping I guess. Can be a hard and log task and often unsolved.
You can work with statistics or in audio editor you cat type how many bars or quaterbars the sample long is and he will count it for you.
Than stretch the sample properly again.
I never time stretched on another sequencer so far.
