You can't calibrate without a SPL meter.

+1 Calibration with respect to sound levels of the different speakers will require a spl meter           "Whoever said the best things in life are free... obviously grew their own bud"

For calbration of subwoofers with main speakers/monitors you will in normal case scenario have a crossover.

crossover - It is basically a Low Pass Frequency circuit. For example if my monitors produce bass down to 60hz then i will set my sub crossover at 60hz meaning the sub will play all frequencies below 60hz. Crossover needs to be fine tuned differently for different speakers.

Room EQ is something different that some subwoofers come with. Its basically a system where the subwoofer tries to measure the bass in the room and tries to minimize nulls and voids of bass at particular frequency created mostly in untreated rooms.

So would you suggest using Room eq to do this? Or would again, the suggestion we leaned toward getting p22a's with no sub over the A7's. I really can't afford much else. I produce dubstep and progressive psy, so I need to be able to monitor below 40hz.

Don't EQ!!! use a SPL meter and calibrate the sub and monitors. The Adam sub craps out easy so you might want to run a lower cut off.

Forget all this messy work. I've decided just to buy Focal Solo6's
