Hey, my Adam A7 is buzzing a bit around the low frequencies. When played with any volume at all below 150hz or so, it just starts buzzing madly.
I saw on another forum someone suggesting removing the back panel; he said there was a piece of wood that had come loose and was buzzing around. He removed it to no ill effect and fixed the buzzing issue.
Got any thoughts? I think I'm past warranty on these so anything is worth a try.

Try to find any loose parts indeed. That could very well be the problem.
Or actually anything close to the speaker that is resonating because of the low freqs. soundcloud.com/supergroover |

I had this problem, too. I opened the monitor (back panel) and saw that the white cushioning material was deferred. It was hanging a little bit over the bass reflex tube. That made the noise.
Try also if the screws are really fix! The back panel can flutter (minimal but audible) if the scews are a little bit loose.

old series are rock solid but it seems they became more greedy construction quality is a issue on newer models... i think it moved from made in germany to made in china though lot of stuff made in china is great, but it seems they went for the cheap route with all the issues. |

yeah, but... the detail that comes out of these things is ridiculous. the tweeters are in a class of their own.

yeah sadly companies compromise design of their monitors to make the most money ... just the size of the cabinet for monitors that go so low is probably a compromise.
my 70/80 monitors are still rock solid working as they should and deliver great sound after 30years i doubt my adam or focal will pass 10 or 15 year it not neer the same quality even if it s good for today, it s built like toys. it s not in the interest of big companies like this to make products that last long with best sound quality, they try to get good sound with the less money |
