I don't know about NorCal (that's where you are?), but in Oregon it's pretty easy to find Native musicians. They've been playing acoustic trance since pre-historic times.

I'd like some actual good producers use these guys to compose tracks with. What comes to mind is Kino Oko (or the BigWigs duo)
This is a great idea, but needs better composition. And a psychedelic sensibility.

By the way, there's a free compilation of similar styles that contains a track by said band that you can download at http://www.zero-inch.com/get/copop when you signup.
Found about that through a link on discogs
And it seems it's Deep house/tech house... I dunno, I can definitely see some quite technoey bits about the song though, but I guess it's more house though.

GOod Jazz ensembles or classical ensembles experimenting is the musical higher level psychedelic IMO.
It is not just about techno,maybe a moment of techno,or technoidish creation amongst thousand others.
I refer to the first video.The second is great too though a bit different this would be techno with instruments to me.

The music an composition could be better. Bigwigs make some awesome music, for example. I would love to hear them use these musicians to play their music.
These guys are good musicians, but lack the art of psychedelic trance.

Given that even the interface of synths and DAWs are getting simplified, responsive & "instrument" like, the future is prepping for more band setups. Boom this year had a stage dedicated to this concept.
totally unplugged ... not so sure. Even the first video had a moog running basslines and stabs.
