hi, it depends a bit what kind of music you want to make / what kind of goals you have in mind. tell us a bit more, if you like.

generally, acoustic guitars are recorded with the mic NOT directly pointed at the sound hole. this would lead to over-emphasis in the low-end. try this if you haven't already.

if you play well, you should also consider to "double" your guitars, which means that you play/record the same part several times and when mixing the individual tracks down, you pan e.g. one take to the left, one in the middle and the third to the right. try to google a bit about this technique, you will find variants of the one i described.

if you like you can also place a mic pointing at the upper part (towards the nut) of the fret board to record "fret-noises" which you can mix to the rest to achieve "more realistic" recordings.

i hope i was able to give you some starting points and ideas to explore.

good luck with the recording and if you like, show us a finished result, this would be interesting to all i think!

cheers,
dtd

well, this isnt sound like spanish guitar, its more like classic one..., but anyway you should pan it acourding to your mix, make it fit into your mix bcus there isnt realy a roll for paning (except orcestra..) anyway, i mostly eq the low end (if there is any ofcourse ) then compress abit and then use eq again to bring back the high range that loss in the compress stage or just eq and compress. Go with your ears and your soul, if its sounds good then its sounds good, keep it simple.

hi Alias,

i listened to your sample and i already started to imagine a floating psybient track in my head. go on, it sounds good!

i have tried out a few things here. i would first highpass the take, i used a high pass at 45-50Hz (you might find a value that suits your "vision" better (oh, we need an analog word for vision in the sound domain..)). if you later use this in a complete track, you can safely set the highpass higher.

i then applied a little compression with a gentle ratio and a threshold at where the most "action" happens (pick a compressor, start with a high ratio and very short release, then tweak the threshold to find the point were the most happens (there should be parts louder than the threshold, and parts softer than it), observe that gain reduction happens at the places you want them, then set the release back to a normal value and the ratio back to very low. Then fine-tune the comp.

i think what you could also do is to record it again, and try to play some notes at a more even volume. for example, in the 2nd half of the pattern (where you start with D# on 1. beat), you could play the 1. D# a little softer and the highest, note, the F# also a bit softer (the same for the 1st part, also on the beats)

best wishes!

i cuted neer 250 and abit the high and in the medium too,the sample is a bit cold maybe try with voxengo overtone geq it s free , i used hydratone with api 550 impulse and it was sounding nice as a guitarist i m sure you don t want to remove all the meat of the sound but you have to cut the guitars a lot for psytrance.

try to find the right balance bettwen them bcus without to hear it i cant tell you nothing...maybe i can tell ya to try cut the the low 200-250hz or 125-150hz...

go here and download the link i posted there...try to filter the lowrange and dont forget play with the slop till it sounds good, the plug slop starts from 12,24,36/oct. (i prefer the 12,24/oct for guitars)

i sended your loop into a synth and tweaked it in realtime for fun, sound a bit like the psychedelic sound of the 70, maybe i ll remove the dust of my guitar and try to make a psytrance track with the spirit of the 70,it can sound great i m sure

Back of your master limiter or softclipper for a start. Sounds really distorted.

I think this track should be a downbeat/chill track instead of psy.
