Thanks for the update Dan. I trawled the Phantom Channel bandcamp site yesterday, some lovely stuff on there.

Also made my way to luvsound: http://www.luvsound.org/ (mp3), http://www.archive.org/details/luvsound (some lossless). Nice droney glitchy ambient soundscapes.

Also bought: Machinefabriek & Broderick – Blank Grey Canvas Sky ( www.fluid-radio.co.uk/2009/10/blank-grey-canvas-sky-2/ ) last week. Loving that as well...

Thanks!

Hi guys,

Quick update before the festive season fully kicks in...

In the next few weeks we will be introducing a second broadcast channel to Fluid Radio.
(Yes I hear you say...You tried that before)!

A lot more thinking has gone into it this time however, and with the main stream being just how we want it musically, we feel it's time to give it another go...

The new stream will be focusing on gentle experimental Folk. I know this won't be everyone's cup of tea, hence a second channel option.

We just feel there is so much beautiful experimental Folk music out there at the moment and want to promote new and upcoming artists in this genre as much as possible.

I have just uploaded a mix that you can listen to that kind of gives an indication of the type of music that you will be able to hear on the new channel once it's launched:

Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful Christmas,

Dan

lol

You are completely right it is an outstanding album and would have been right near the top of the list along with quite a few other more elctronic influenced releases.

Just that the station has moved direction slightly and the top 10 list relates to tracks that are or have been in the current Fluid playlist.

I see, also I saw now that it was "Acoustic Frequencies", not electroacoustic, so it was my bad. But nice, I have found A LOT of good music through your station, will gladly look up these artists! I have you to thank for Digitonal and Bersarin Quartett to name a few!

That Richard Skelton cd looks like it will be winner.

Have to agree with the inclusion of Peter Broderick & Machinefabriek - “Blank Grey Canvas Sky”. This is beautiful music - with varied moods. I've played it heaps since i got it.

After summer is out of the way i'm going to get back into mixing it up with more of a modern classical electro-acoustic flavour. (right now the sun is shining and the beats and dub chords are calling me.. )

We are in the process of designing a new site for Fluid Radio that will include a new second broadcast channel focusing on gentle experimental Folk…

We have a test stream running at the moment for the new channel. You can listen to it from this link:

http://www.fluid-radio.co.uk/2010/01/test-stream-now-running/

This is only a test stream however so it may go down from time to time and it also only has about 1 gig of music on the server set at random play.

Much more music will be added to this stream before we go live.

Thanks,
