Hi guys,

Just to let you know that we now have a second stream running on Fluid Radio.
It will be broadcasting more experimental sounds including modern classical, acoustics, abstract and minimal soundscapes.
We currently have about 20 hours of music on the server at the moment, and over the coming days that will grow significantly with lot's of new and unreleased material being added as we speak.

You can either access the new stream by visiting the Fluid web site and when you arrive at the landing page click on the 'Acoustic Frquencies' tab which will take you to the new site. Or you can access/listen to it by clicking here: http://usa2-vn.mixstream.net/stream/103/listen.m3u
This is only a default media player though. For more players (WMP, Real Player, Winamp, Firewall Port 80, etc) visit the 'Acoustic Frequencies' page.

The normal Fluid stream is still running and can be accessed by clicking 'Electroacoustic Frequencies'.

I hope that all makes sense

All feedback for the new stream is welcome and requests for artists/labels to be added just shout.

Dan

Thank for the feedback guys.

Ok had an idea..

I was thinking to keep this thread running once a week by adding an album from the more experimental genres that could be worth a mention. There's lots of great alternative music out there that probably wouldn't fit to well in this forum but thought that maybe this thread could be the space to share?

Please feel free to also post albums/artists that could fit in with our second Fluid broadcast stream.

Ok album for this week is:

Peter Broderick - Float

After a bit of a break the Type label return with this long awaited album from the enigmatic Peter Broderick, an artist who has already been courted by more high profile labels than we care to mention. By the time you'll have finished playing through this incredible album once you'll already feel like you've somehow known this music all your life. Broderick has an inimitable ability to score work that's both technically complex and effortlessly archetypal, so much so that listening to it now im convinced I've heard this music in films, adverts, documentaries - I just can't place exactly where or when. Piano, violins, cello, drums, banjo and guitar take centre stage, painting intimate pictures with that same widescreen quality that so many of you have loved about the likes of Max Richter, Johan Johannsson, Harold Budd, Alberto Iglesias or Michael Nyman - but Broderick makes more than just a pretty sound, his composition barely believable for a man of his age (incredibly, this guy is just 21 years old), his arrangements handled with a kind of masterly self assurance that's so often lacking with this sort of music. There's enough substance to offset the pastoral beauty of the music, enough uncertainty to keep proceedings from turning to unbridled romance - Broderick's music is multi-faceted, deep and utterly unforgettable. We honestly reckon this album is nothing short of a masterpiece. - Boomkat Review

nice idea.
here is my first suggestion that should be proprior for mentioned tunes:

Jullien Neto-Le Fumeur de Ciel
After contributions and remixes on various compilations around the world, the mysterious Parisian has finally settled into his home on Type Records where he has been working from the very beginning.
Very little is revealed about Mr. Neto, other than the fact that he has a great talent for crafting soulful and moving electro acoustic soundscapes and a penchant for fine literature.

Rafael Anton Irisarri-Daydreaming
His music combines rustling static, haunting piano melodies, beautiful ambient guitar, field recordings, and electronics. His compositions range from electro-acoustic works that incorporate organic, electronic and non-conventional instruments to melancholic pieces that can be both epic and subdued. The piano always remains the focus, but when the electronics creep in they bring with them the foreboding sense of time and dissolution; as if the piano struggles to remember the pleasant moments only to be slowly worn away by the insistence of electronic interference. Dreamy textures float effortlessly and dissolve into one another, leaving the listener basking in shimmering beauty, filled with quiet loss and harrowing introspection.

and also
Near The Parenthesis-L'exiample
Near the Parenthesis is Tim Arndt, a San Francisco based electronic musician. While playing piano and guitar in several bands through the years, Tim has continually been grounded in electronic and experimental music. His current approach focuses on full compositions, gentle and restrained, yet deeply layered and evolving. Passages never stray too far major or minor, centering themselves in between, and grow unexpectedly from simple rhythms and chords to swirling combinations of sound intensified with dissonance before resolving itself and quietly exiting          www.soundmute-recordings.com
