In such a small space, I'm afraid a diffuser might do more damage than good. It is a far-field consideration device.
You don't want to be close to the skyline, not in a mixing-critical space, which I suppose you're aiming at... In a bigger room on the back wall or back ceiling, might be. A recording room can benefit, with a modular diffusor even.

You will apply some kind of broadband absorbtion on first reflection areas, when your monitors close to the wall, that wall is considered first reflection as well as walls on your sides and the ceiling.

Yap psysutra is right. I'm in the same position (same little room)... the best is absortion.
Use the mirror tecnich or maths to find the 1º reflection points... and in the coners bass traps with high dense material is the way to go
