Acids sounds on synths other than TB303?

I'm trying to learn how to program acid sounds on more flexible synths than ABL or RB338, like vanguard or albino...etc.
I'm trying to get sounds like the presets in Alien303, those harsh screaming, resonating leads. Ive studied acid presets in vanguard, but every attempt I make in sounds like a normal saw or square, or a supersaw lead with strange filter envelops.
So how would yo go about making a screaming acid lead in other subtractive synths? Whats characteristic of acid leads?

its very usefull for acid 303like sounds because has a very good distortion unit and a very tight filter, also there is a preset that sounds nice try tweaking it untill you understand how it works
basicaly there is a modulator(envelope or lfo) that twists the cutoff into rare forms like ups and downs but with more amplitude and a lot of distortion and resonance
i thnik the trick its on the decay of the adsr
pd dont abuse of the distortion or it would sound like a really crappy weird noise |

i really like those sounds tracked down and very nice would be to use external multi pattern filter on nicely selected timber.Band pass and it sounds like there are many instruments instead of one
Axis i really like the lfo on delay
there is also some nice cubase vst step filter? dont know also nice for this sound
amazing how they did all with cutoff and resonance(offcourse not all) back 20 years ago

For REALLY wet underwear try putting Free Tape Delay on a sound, then assign LFO 1 to Delay Time and LFO 2 to Delay Feedback.
I'm getting moist just thinking about it.
