I've been trying to figure out the fxs used on acid line that come at 4:00.
It's fuzzy and crunchy. I assume it has some sort of saturation/overdrive along with small reverb.
It's Outsiders classic signature.

Any thoughts?

It's a 303 synth line, play with the filder and filter modulation (and sequence - these 3 are the key of these sounds).

To make it scream like this one does, distortion/overdrive/fuzz - you name it, but yes a distortion unit is fantastic for making these types of sounds.

First time these were made is with a TB303 (good luch getting your hands on one - go for a x0xb0x), as it is a bass synth and is usually played using the sequencer with very simple patterns (only being able adding "accents" and "slides" to the patter notes, and maybe in some units a bit of swing) - and feeding that into a distortion unit just brings out all those sweet overtones and, again, makes the whole sound scream like wild.

Also, think in simple waves - saw or square - and you don't actually need more than 1 oscillator to get this (but using more than one, with different octaves and tuning or even a fixed tuning can really fatten up the sound).

So, it's a simple synth, distorted into oblivion. The most of the expressiveness (like it's "talking") comes out is in the pattern and in the filter settings, with a HUGE importance on the filter modulation envelope.
Just try to make this noice with your mouth-voice; you'll see how much you can do just by oppening and closing your mouth - which would act as the filter But in an synth, you've got lots of filter parameters to fine tune, and can recall the exact parameter with automation

Hope this helps.           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

Thanks knocz!
I thought it was a 303 sound.
BTW, i got a TT-303 and have been trying to get it very close through Boss Overdrive. Almost there. I think those guys are also passing the sound through some sort of tube. Reverb that they have is also good too.

there's some cool distortion guitar pedals that can take you there, if you're going the hardware way. fairly cheap to, like Big Muff's distortion pedal:

as far as reverbs go, hardware way, either some eventide or strymon bluesky will get you where u want to be.
