Oi retards, here's a biggie - why is it that the Brits know how to make the best music that we have in electronic acid style, be it Green Nuns, BoC, Orbital, Posford and the likes. Can you please give me your opinions on this? England = Acid music. Is there Acid in your rain, rivers?

If you're really interested in the history of UK dance music - have a read of "Energy Flash" by Simon Reynolds or (a lot broader) "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" by Bill Brewster...
I reckon its a mixture of the UK's weird class sytems, its immigration, early industrialisation, the fall of empire and er.. the weather (yes Vanessa!)... |
