I believe, like Bill Hicks said, that drugs have done good things for us. Except for my everyday weed-smoking, I use psychedelics too every now and then.

But, have you ever observed that most of the times all the stuff that is said about the knowledge that psychedelics have provided to us is a little bit general?

I mean that there are many of us that say that drugs have taught us many things and that sometimes it's like the revelation of a big universal truth that we cannot comprehend and understand. But little is said in particular, the majority of the statements is very general.

Maybe the fact that psychedelics make us question even their contribution and their value to us is part of their value and importance to us.

Anyway, just some thoughts of mine. Maybe I'm wrong.

I tend to be general about psychedelics rather than specific, unless I am talking about things I have directly experience myself, so as not to mislead or misrepresent the psychedelic experience.

It is too easy to mistake the "map for the territory" when it comes to the psychedelic experience. That is to say the symbols, the language and iconographic representations we use to allude to experiences aren't the actual experiences themselves.

All too often I meet people who confuse the symbols for the experience, and don't appreciate we all have our own personal "rosetta stone" to those symbols which we then translate into our own internal dialogue.

To often when speaking in specifics I find I am either misconstrued, due to this translation error, or ridiculed because of the symbols/language I used to transcribe my experiences.

Thus I have learnt to try and be really careful what I say, especially when it comes to the psychedelic experience.           www.youtube.com/trancevisuals

this whole glorifying of drugs makes me crazy. i used to be all about em and think they showed me the way and that they were directly responsible for that.

that's jus silly. we've just all gotten so far away from the way things should be, the world that drugs show us seems magical and mystical. the real world IS the world that drugs show us. we just need to make our sober match our trippin, ain't that hard.
