A nice x0x is a great addition to a modular system. 1 brilliant VCO, one brilliant VCF and the fantastic sequencer that outputs CV/Gate and it can also double up as a MIDI/CV interface.

yeah, I bet those 303 inspired modules cost a lot more and the xox is probably much more "old school" kind of fun. there's something about this small boxes and really focusing just on the options available that can enhance anyone's creativity. same goes for the TR kind of drum machiens. btw, anyone feeling so nostalgic as to go all the way and get something like that? I see a lot of interest on Maschine (me included) rather then this. we have tons of 808 and 909 samples, they're pretty easy to make on some synths to. I just don't think the fun of it is in the sounds themselves (even though they sound good of course), but on the xox kind of sequencing, again.
so, if you were to route the sequencer to another device, how would you go about the "accent" thing? is it just velocity information? like a simple velocity>filter cuttoff kind of mod? or something else?

yeah, that's what I thought... worth using the sequencer anyways, I guess.
how about the other way around. easy test: since the virus's arp sends velocity information, if it was used to sequence the xox, would it read those velocity changes as an accent? |
